The ongoing saga of my new car

Post by Marie5656 »

Seems as if the ongoing saga of the new car and dealing with the dealer is never ending. So we have been bringing it in to get small odds and ends dealt with. A tire had a slow leak, no problem, they fixed it. The belts were squealing..forst thing in the morning when it was a cold start. They said they changed the belts, but next morning, still squealing.

So, yesterday we made an apointment to bring it back, to be kept overnight, so they could check it out. The plan was, I would drop it off, and Rick would swing by and pick me up when he got off work. I had timed it so I would not have a long wait.

Here is the thing, I do not claim to be an expert on cars, so when I have to drop it off, Rick will give me my script..tell me what to tell the service people. I told them, that it was still squealing, and Rick felt it was the bearings. Now, this is Rick's job..he knows engines. The guy looks at me and pretty much says, no it is not, it is probably just dew, or moisture on the belts in the morning. We will take a look, want to wait? So I had to get a bit bitchy, and say, NO...you need to start it in the morning and see what we mean. I got the classic eye roll reserved for people they think do not know what they are talking about.

When I told Rick what the guy said, he just sat in the car for a couple of minutes, and then said "******* this" and he went in. Gave the guys a piece of his mind, and told them what they were full of, and all. :-5

So, just a little while ago Rick calls me and said guess what..I was right, they checked it this morning and it was not the belts, it was a problem with the bearings. So, they are going to keep it another day to get it fixed right. :sneaky:

As much trouble as you've been having with this car, I'd be asking for a rebate or some payments knocked off. :-2
