It's my birthday today, but should I really mention this. When you come to 77 should you be celebrating or retiiring to a darkened room to try and forget it? My wife has adopted the habit of always reversing the figures so that it makes her seem younger, but it won't work with this one will it?!

On reflection, I think I will just forget about it - after all, everyone else has. All together now ......... "Ah! What a shame - poor chap; no one remembers". Form a queue here to cheer the poor old bloke up.:-1

77 years young, huh? Well good for you, dammit!! I hope to see 77.

Age is a number, nothing more. You are as old as you feel.

Oh and P.S.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

If you can't reverse your numbers Melton, you'll just have to turn them downsideup!

77 makes LL . . . . . so 'ave an LL of a great birthday!

I had a similar problem as you did trying to reverse the numbers. When I was 11, 22, 33, 44, and again at 55!:D

Many thanks to you all for your kind messages! I feel so much better now, and will look forward to the next twelve months with renewed vigour - if the stupid old body will let me.

Anyway, the sun is shining this morning, and the birds are singing away - looks like it will be a lovely day - a little country walk this morning I think!:)

Where have you been, Melton? We've missed you! Remember those wonderful threads that you started that changed into complete insanity?

Anyway, it's lovely to see you back and...

Hi Theia and Abbey. It's wonderful to see both of you on this dark, bleak, rainy, wintry Friday evening. I'm going to pour myself a glass of red wine and sit by the fire.

Nice to know that I've been missed. To tell the truth it's taken a long time to get all the examinations and treatments done by the "head" doctors, but they have now declared me of sound mind again, so I am free to go out into the community once more. They did however warn me to stay away from those disrupting influences that caused the damage to my senses in the first place. What should I do?

Melton, firstly, don't believe everything those doctors say...

And fourthly, you are amongst friends her at FG...we will only complement your senses.

(just stay away from people who keep using ... after everything they write)

Now I'm getting worried - I'm not being taken seriously am I? I was only kidding, and what I wrote was meant to be funny - and in the hope that I would stir members into an equally frivolous response. Shall have to be careful what and how I write in the future. Will now have a sit and think, and come back shortly to stir things up again!

That's amusing, Melton. After I had posted, I thought to myself, I hope Melton was kidding, because that's the way I'd read it. I thought, how awful if he wasn't. So your humour was not wasted...until I began to doubt myself.

Keep stirring :) it doesn't take much to set us off down one of our peculiar roads...
