K, so I haven't posted much since joining. I've been reading and reading and reading some more, trying to get a bit more acquainted with the place, and I've found it a bit overwhelming LOL. This place is huge, and has so many members! I also sense a bit of hotility lately, and although that seems to happen at many forums, it doesn't seem to be breaking the spirit of this one. Perhaps some of my hesitation is not knowing where to begin? Or what type of reactions will result? Any suggestions?
I'd like to say this though. I've read up on lots of stuff, and one of the things that caught me was the position babyrider and her hubby are in. I'd like to say, from a total stranger nonetheless, that my heart goes out to you and that I hope things work out for the best.
Hoping to find her niche....

Thanks Chonisgirl! I don't know what the hesitation is, cause I"ve been a member of several forums (still am), but they're very small and intimate places LOL. Like less than a hundred members

If Nomad asks if you'd like to see his pegleg, say no.
Oh! Don't want to give off that impression. Most of the members here seem really nice.

Dont be Misery honey. You pick yourself a good name, like Joan of Arc or Attila the Hun. Misery has such a dark connotation.
Welcome :-6

Hey, Mystery....don't be shy!! Just jump in wherever something interests you! If you have been hanging out for a while, you should have seen that we really like greeting new members.
There is every type of personality here, along with many topics.
You saw the number of members, but we don't have nearly that many who post and participate. You can scroll through the members list (top of the page, bottom green stripe, 3rd in from the left) and see how many have signed up and just never come back.
This is a very family-like atmosphere, and if ya stick around, you'll be brought into the "fold" real quickly.
I appreciate your concern about my husband's situation. We will know more about that on Wednesday.
So....hang out, you will love this place!! And if you have any trouble navigating, post your question and someone will be along to answer real quickly. Welcome to FG!!! :yh_peace

That would be nice. It's kinda aggravating for us old-timers to go around trying to make sure everyone is welcomed and then they just never come 'round anymore! I hope you do stay!! :yh_bigsmi

But, for tonight, I have to go. Got some studying to do and work in the a.m. Have a terrific evening.

Are you one for the deep philosophical thoughts, the just for the fun of it type or maybe into the lively debates. Or are you one of those who loose themselves in the word games or the arcade
Whatever your niche you'll find it here - welcome.

Hi - ya Mystery,
I can tell from your location that you're going to be my kind of person!
Welcome to FG, see you around!

Oh dear, Chocoholic's seen you, Mystery. Take care!! And welcome to the Forum Garden.
When I first came in I too felt overwhelmed and some of the good people here referred me to threads to read, to get me started. One of these threads had thousands of pages - but at that stage I didn't realise they were playing with me and I went and read the lot!! It required lots of black coffee. Grin.
So escape while you still can, is my advice. Those of us who missed the opportunity in those early days before we realised that FG is as necessary as chocolate .. are still here, lost in the labyrinth, swinging from chandeliers, mudwrassling, sparring, debating serious issues, randomly chatting about non serious issues, joking and having fun, supporting each other, or just enjoying being amongst friends.

Blanket hello to all of you that have posted since I was last here. Thanks so much for the warm welcomes. I'm enjoying this place so far, and looking forward to getting to know the lot of you better.
Bryn Mawr - I'm actually a bit of all of those LOL. Once i get comfy, I have a hard time keeping my mouth shut on just about anything, and I'm a sucker for addictive games and puzzles
