i think it's worth noting - without meaning to detract from the *message* of the story which is what's important -

Well isn't that just proof of how things can get a tad skewed when it comes to the internet.
Well it's a lovely story and just that I guess now, a story. But it is a feel good story.

Wasn't there some story called the Good Samaritan? I seem to remember it featured a traveller from foreign parts going about his business, some nasty people beating him up and robbing him, some self righteous bloke minding his own business probably thinking he was ultimately only accountable for himself, and some silly sod actually doing his best to help.
I've always had a horrible suspicion that we may very well be held accountable one day for how we've used opportunities to help, hinder or just ignore people we somehow come into contact with.

Thanks for the email, Snooze. Dammit. I wasn't having a go at you or Pinky !!!! I was musing about my own shortcomings - in the light of stuff going on here right now and if I'd read the whole thread better - mea culpa! - sure I'd have just gone away instead. I still think we have a responsibility to do what we can, when we can. BUT !!!! We're human and can't predict the future. Sometimes with hindsight, a few bits of puzzle fall into place, but hey - as I said, we're human beings. Mostly, trying to do the right thing in a pretty bloody raw world. Okay!!!
