There are many who come to mind, but one would be Gil Grissom, the head guy from CSI...to ask him questions about entimology (the study of insects).

I like that one, Pinky. Cathy was one of my first thoughts. She always loved Heathcliffe, she should have married him.

No, the old black and white is good enough for me.

Now that I think of it, I watched Little Women the other day. Why on earth did Jo not marry the boy next door! That never made sense to me either!

Wasn't he in love with one of the others? It's been years since I read it!

Same old story though - if you're a bloke's best mate, they never see you as anything else!

Didn't he end up marrying Amy?

Anyways I'd like to go on a adventure with Stephanie Plum, would never be a dull moment.

I'd like to meet Scarlett O'Hara and shake her till her silly teeth rattle! I'd ask her what the HELL she was thinking, mooning over sappy Ashley, when she could've had Rhett!

I would like to meet Kay Scarpetta of the Patricia Cornwall series. I'd ask her why she ever chose to be a coroner.

In an early Dean Koontz book called "Watchers" there is a literate golden retriever, part of a lab experiment, who escapes the lab and hooks up with an ordinary guy. The dog understands spoken words, and the main character of the book slowly figures out he's got a genius dog on his hands, and finds a way to communicate with the dog using Scrabble tiles for the dog to use to spell out his answers. He names the dog "Einstein." I would like to meet Einstein and ask him a lot more than one question!! DO dogs dream? Do dogs really love us, or is it pure instinct that makes them protect us, etc? How can we best make "regular" dogs understand what we want from them? SO many things I'd love to ask a literate dog!!!

Oh, BR..that remains one of my favorite of his books. In fact, I recently re-read it. And you are so right..wouldn't it be great to converse with such a dog?

I disliked it intensely, and it wasn't true to the original story. I think that came out 10-15 years ago?

It would be awesome, indeed Marie! It's one of the books that I can't bear to trade in at my second-hand bookstore, I keep re-reading it!

(At the risk of appearing "new agey"....I once took an Animal Communications class with Carol Gurney and I'm convinced I had a "conversation" with a parrot! I LOVED that "Einstein" character!)

I'd like to meet AUNTIE MAME, too! She'd be a great "girl friend," and I'd ask her how she developed such a marvelous philosophy.
