I dont know, but I think it's a bit too early for seeing christmas displays in the stores. Personally I think it takes away from the magic of the season. Christmas is a winter festival! We havent even got to the fall festivals yet! I mean come on!
I think we are having one glorious summer! Everyones outside, the butterflies are EVERYWHERE! And the Rossi ice cream flows like milk and honey! :-6 Who wants fat man christmas to show up yet?

If he does "show up", IMO he should be given a good kicking, and the shop boycotted (telling them why, too).
Shouldnt we at least get past the fall stuff first? Just goes to show how merchandising and hallmark have taken over our feasts and festivities. Has anyone told the arabs that own Harrods that it might just be a bit early for that? We are still in the midst of surf, fun in the sun time!

Unfortunately, Christmas has become very commercialized and seems to get worse every year. In my opinion, it has taken the true meaning out of Christmas. I have cut way down on the amount of money I spend on gifts as well as the quantity of gifts. I refuse to get myself in debt from Christmas.
We usually don't see any Christmas items/decorations in stores until October or November here.
But Christmas in August? How ridiculous...
What they skipped right past Halloween, and Thanksgiving were into Christmas already...Please I can't take it..:-5

I do halloween and thanksgiving, but most british folks dont. What they have is Guy Fawkes day. It's on the 5th of November. They have totally knarly bonfires! They burn effigy's of guy fawkes. He's the bloke who tried to blow up parliament in the gunpowder plot when James the 1st was on the throne.

I suppose if express my opinion that Christmas should start on December 24th and end on the 26th, I shall have to duck to avoid everything that is thrown my way!
