Your neighbors

Do you live in a neighborhood? Or are you one of the lucky ones that lives out of town away from the Noise of others?

God! I HATE my stinking next door neighbors. WHERE do these people come from that have annoying LOUD kids and a dog that won't shut up and they don't hear it? They should look up the word Neighbor in the dictionary and apply it in their lives. Why is there always at least One family like this in a neighborhood?

I can literally sit here with my stereo turned up (to try and drown them out) and hear them running up and down their own house hallways and screaming.

Yes, my windows are closed and it's 8:36 at night. School starts tomorrow. Shut Up already and go to bed you little ^%*)#)$! :-5

This family went away for a last hurrah this past week and OMG it was nice around here.

Just venting. Thanx for listening.

:yh_rotfl :yh_rotfl Rain, I used to have neighbors from hell. They moved!:yh_party . We were literally in the front yard, having a celebration cook out and merrily waving them goodbye as the moving van left.

My neighborhood in Las Vegas had a troop of 10- or 12-year-olds that would get into fights and curse out any adult that tried to chastise them for making too much noise. Those were some tough girls!

My new neighborhood is really quiet. The only negative is the guy direcly across the street that parks his old VW bug on the curb in direct line with my drive.

I lived in a duplex once. The neighbor had 5 kids. Now you expect some noise in a duplex, but it got old fast listening to the kids run up and down the steps, bounce balls off the wall, the mother screaming and cussing at them, etc. at 3a.m. I swear they never slept! I told the landlord, "Either they move, or we do". The next month, he stopped by and I had boxes sitting there. He asked why. I told him I had warned him. They were gone by the end of the week and life was good again.

My nieghbors from hell finally moved. And the cop/my hairdresser has informed they are already causing a stink in their new neigborhood. :wah:

Anyways now my street is nice and peaceful.

I live in a very quiet & somewhat isolated neighborhood. Most of my neighbors have lived here for a long time. I have to say that I like my neighbors quite a bit. There are a couple of people up the street who drive too fast, but other than that, it's really quiet around here.

I'm sorry, Rain! You've had bad luck in the last few years....it'll get better! Have you thought of taping them and playing it back so they can hear just how loud the dog/kids really are?

Oh, I could sit here all day telling neighbor from hell stories.

When I lived in an apartment complex I had a neighbor on the floor directly below me who would have his stereo going full blast...and then GO OUT!! So we had to deal with it. He was evicted after enough of the other people on the building complained and he kept right on doing it.

I live in my own house now. My current neighbors are OK. BUT, we used to have a rather odd couple across the street. First, the wife came to me and complained because people who came to visit would occasionally turn around in thier driveway. Our street is very narrow. One time, we had a bad snow storm. When I got home from work, they had already shoveled thier driveway out. So, I went over and asked if I could put my husband's car in thier drive just long enough to plow out ours. It would have maybe taken me 10 or 15 minutes. I was told no....they did not "allow" people to park in thier drive. The wife was also very nosy..whenever we came home, or were going to or from our cars, she would be peeping out the window at us...and would move away if we looked up. Once, a friend of Ricks came over, thinking Rick was home, but he was working nights. So, when the friend was leaving, I noticed the wife peeping at us. So I asked the guy to give me a huge hug and kiss when he was leaving, I explained why. The window curtains slammed shut really fast. :wah:

I cant stand the guy that lives behind us. Our backyards but up against each other. I have a privacy fence all the way around except for about 20 feet of chainlink. He knows how agressive my dog is but he continues to walk hi dog right along the fenceline and get her riled up. She always jumps up on the fence when he does this. This is the fourth time in 3 months she has ripped her nail out of her "thumb" because it got caught on the fence. THat guy pisses me off so much. He has a HUGE backyard a BIG lot, about an acre or more. We have a 1/3 (front and back included) why does he have to walk right along the fence???????

My neighbors are fine.

I've lived in this house for about six years; hubby's lived in it for almost 20 years.

And I know many more neighbors than he does :rolleyes:

That's only because of walking my dog. If you have dogs or children, you'll meet your neighbors.

If you don't, it's definitely much harder to do so.

This is going to seem strange and ironic, but I live in a church shelter. And I have crazy people all around me. But I have never felt safer living anywhere else. I mean, the security comes thru the women's area 3 times a night with a flashlight. If there is anything that is wrong, I can just walk into the security office and tell. And they come in to stop whatever is happening. There have been several times when someone is acting strange or offensive and I get my guy in security and he will make them leave. I was a bit harrassed by a guy there and I went into security and told my guy, and he threw the man out. At 9 p.m. it is "lights out, noise out". And that is a rule. IF someone is up making noise, I can tell them to shutup and if they don't, I go into security.

Compared to all other places I've lived....apartment complexes, roommate situations, this is far better. And it is free. And so far I have no outdate. I can stay there for as long as I need, as long as I am working toward a goal.

I can remember the last time I owned a house, I had these horrible rude, noisy Mexicans living next door. And before they lived there, it was a family of white trash on-welfare-with hunting dogs who were selling drugs. And that was worse.:p

Early yesterday morning, 3 am, my neighbors' 5 dogs woke me up with their barking. Turns out they were barking at the cat who was left out all night. I know this because the neighbors are my daughter and her husband. I only have 2 neighbors on either side of me, over an acre away. But I'm not going to complain about her 'babies' because they will also act as an alarm if anyone approaches MY house.

Our neighbours, and to be honest most our little neigbourhood, used to be quite elderly. Sadly one of our neighbours died a while ago, and our other neighbours have recently moved. Instead we now have two couples with a few young children. Thankfully they aren't too bad, but my dad is getting to lose his temper with them continually hitting the ball over the fence hehehe.

I've had some real nutcases for neighbors, but I've also had some really sweet neighbors too. One in particular, I still see every now and then. He has suffered a stroke and it is so sad. He loved dancing; something he'll probably never do again.:-1 He's an elderly gentleman. I never had the privilege of meeting his wife. He told me stories of how they use to go to nursing homes and senior centers. He'd play; she'd sing. There wasn't an instrument made he didn't own and couldn't play well.

Oh Peg how sad. I bet he was interesting guy to know.

One of my neighbors is an old cowboy. His wife told me he once quit a good job because he was going to have to drive tractor. And his view is cowboys don't drive tractors. :wah: I love them dearly. She makes homemade Popsicles ever summer and brings them to the kids.

Lulu2, ya know there's just some ppl that don't know how annoying they are. I realize these ppl are just living there lives, but come on! We found that there's a HUGE dent in our camper shell now. Last night I heard tons of thuds, and crashes. The little bastards (to use Nomads phrasing) did something to it. My problem is that these ppl are owners and he has a very secure job at the local prison. They ain't goin' anywhere! :-5

It can only get better huh? Right? Come on... encourage me! lol.

Don't know how encouraging it'll be...but we do get used to things, over time. Buddy will grow up and not be a barky puppy...and the kids will grow up, too. I still think you might consider TAPING their noise and then inviting them over to hear your tape. :sneaky:
