Kinda' fits in with that "six degrees of separation" theory, doesn't it? I wonder how many of us have connections?

I haven't heard of the "six degrees..." theory. What's it all about, Lulu? Sounds fascinating.

Essentially, this theory says that, between any two people, you can find six links of some sort.

Example...you know someone (1) who worked with someone (2) who once taught a student (3) who knew a person (4) who was married to someone (5) whose friend (6) knows me.

That'd be "the six degrees." There's an interesting film you can rent "Six Degrees of Separation" and there's a game about any six people connected to Kevin Bacon.

Kevin Bacon....WHERE??:yh_giggle That sounds interesting.

I have never had something interesting happen to me untill last year. Well not so much interesting, but I can't think of a word for it. Anyways, In high school I became friends with a boy, Alex,(we're like brother and sister), and last year we went to the movies to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. On our way out we ran into his cousin, Jenny...who in elementry school I was best friends with. I hadn't talked to her since 5th grade, I believe, because she moved the, I guess you can say 'city', I live in now. Then she moved to Florida to live with her dad....but of all things we reunited in the parkin lot. CRAZY!

I just thought I'd share....something weird.:D

So does it have to be six links between you and me or six links between, say, you and Betty...actually, I think I'm getting this wrong...nothing new there :-5

The theory is that you can connect ANY two people with six or fewer links. You'll like the film....it's starring a young and very charming Will Smith. It's supposedly based on a true story.

Yes, I thought I had probably missed the point :wah:

I'll try to get to see the film before I go any further.

Actually, so we could be talking about someone I might meet in passing?

For example:

1. my neighbor's

2. boss

3. has a second cousin

4. who took a trip to England, stayed at an inn where the owner

5. was the former postal worker for

6. Theia

:)

Is that right?

Hi Snoozie. Just popped into this thread to give you a hug !!!!! A propos of nothing really. Just felt like giving you a hug and telling you I appreciate you. Grin.

Sometimes finding a link can be unsettling. Like I was fantasising about a really drop dead gorgeous masseur and then found out that one of my closest girlfriends had been his high school teacher.

You got it, Chons! Of course, FINDING those links is the difficult part.

BTW..how's the aura now?? And the cardie?? :wah:

Please, Hamster, exercise a modicum of sensitivity here, if you will. My aura is all over the place and it's not an easy time for me. I've tried aura control, conditioner and even wind down relaxing cream...none of it works. I've had to secure it behind my back with a scrunchy and if I'm honest with you, it looks rather silly. It's not something I really wanted to talk about in public.

Ah, right (to your example, Chonsi). That sounds really fascinating.

Now, as regards cardis...that's another matter. But just think, my blue half price Monsoon could be connected with Betty's brown Per Una and, well, I needn't go as far as six. Two is fine for me...a close enough connection for Betty's brown to come and spend a few days with my blue, so that they can get to know one another :sneaky:

Well Snooze I can't find the Yearbook. I have ripped this house apart looking for it. My best guess is it went into storage when my daughter moved in here. :-3 I have emailed my sister to see if she may have one she was the class of 66 at Hoover High. ;) I won't stop looking if she went to Hoover and is my age we went to school together for sure I'm sure we graduated together as well..

Well I snooped around on Classmates.com and found your sister there and she did indeed graduate the class of 66 which would have been with my sister .. A small world for sure..:D
