Really......how much can one family take?

Post by mominiowa »

I know it has been a lil while since I have wrote..but I find myself here once again to ask for prayers and miricles...

Last night my nephew called me - stated we had something in common...When I asked what he said---the cancer...

I felt my heart drop as I slid to the floor listening to his day at the hospital..On Saturday morning he had asked me to come and watch his children age 3 & 5 months so he could go to the emergency room.. He could no longer take the pain from "hurting his back" when he moved my sisters things to Iowa from Colorado when she suffered her stroke in June..He had battled the back pain for a couple months and no longer could stand it...HE left before 7 and didn't return until noon...HE showed me his lab work and I froze in my tracks..Certainly our hospital staff had made a grave error--as his Lymph tests were very high and his CBC was 28--(normal is 4-10) I looked at him and asked where his antibiotics were...he said--all they said was to go to his reg. DO/MD on Monday and sent him home with Naproxen...NAPROXEN? for pain that he had? WTF! So when the phone call came in and he started to tell me I started to cry--he said to be strong for him and his family...then he told me............6 months to live.........Was I hearing this right? he is just 32...he has 2 small babies.....his mother has just had a stroke...Please everyone--once again our family needs your prayers...it helped me--please help him......His liver is full, bladder, bowel, stomach and it has spread to his bone....I know the outcome--I live with this disease everyday--but can't someone be granted that almighty miricle?......please--i don't know how much more my family can take this year....Thank you for listening...

Here are his kids...and his wedding

Sweet Jesus.. . . . I don't know what to say except I will be praying for you and thinking of you and your nephew.

Attitude is everything and you are a good example for him. Keep the smiles going his way and maybe he will tap into a little of your wonderful power.

We're here for you

Kisses :-4

I am so sorry to hear about your nephew. I will certainly pray - you - your nephew and his family will be in my thought.

There has to be something Doctor's can do.

My husband had back pain severe - it was cancer - it was the lymph nodes. Change 3 - Doctors removed several lymph nodes in the stomach area and thighs, Mayo Hosp.

he went thru several chemo and radiation treatments.

I still have him - it's been one year Jan 18.

There has to be treatment for your nephew - Please let there be treatment for your nephew. Any chance to get into the Mayo Hosp. in Rochester MN.? Try.

MOM, Know we / FG are praying and are here for you

I am so sorry to hear this

Mom...I'm glad you've posted because we were worried that you hadn't been in touch for a while.

My heart goes out to you and your family.....you've had more than your fair share of troubles....life just stinks sometimes, but it's folks like you with all your love and strength that makes us see that we can take the knocks but get up and carry on...you're an inspiration.

Love to you, your nephew and your family.....beams coming your way. :-4 :-6

Oh I am so sorry to hear about this Mom, what horrible news. You have to stay strong and keep trying to be as positive as you can, even though you have been through such an ordeal as of late. If you stay strong, your positive vibes and attitude I'm sure will pass all throughout the family and your cousin will be able to collect and use all this positive energy around him.

My best wishes and prayers to you, your cousin and the whole family. I'm sure it must be a tough, tough time for you all, but you keep believing and knowing that there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel!! :-4 :-6

It's just too much - too many family members. Mom, could there be something environmental involved? Do you live in the same area?

How are you doing, dear? :yh_flower

Mom this is truly tragic I'm sad to hear this news I will light candles and say many prayers that some how, some way a miracle will happen. :-4

He is so very young to have such massive cancer, of course I wonder as well, is this a genetic component, environment as ACC stated. It truly does seem strange. :(

This is terrible! I can't even imagine his feelings and those of the rest of the family. I know this isn't easy to hear, but hope for the best and plan for the worst! He can focus on making videos for the children, planning for his wife...that sort of thing. It's always easier to bear difficult news with ACTION of some sort.

Sending warm thoughts and hopes...

OMG, I'm not gonna whine no more bout my puny little toothache. Mom your in my prayers and your nephew. I know this has got to be a giant kick in the mouth to your faith, but keep going. Get a second opinion and like others have recommended, find a Mayo clinic. Oh I don't know what else to say, but I'm sending you lots of hugs and prayers for strength. :-4
