This to be along the lines of the BBC's "Grumpy Old Men" series. Complaints

about what really irritates *you* (not necessarily discussions about same).

Any support?

I think it's a great idea, here's mine; I hate it when people take their dogs for a walk then let it poo on my grass, which is left for one of my children to step into, then before anyone realises the have S*** on their shoe they've walked through the house with shoes on or even better, climb in the car and this awful smell suddenly hits you, by then your on a road where you can't stop, it freezing cold and your the only berk driving along with every window in the car open and your kids foot hanging out the window, the window furthest from me :-5 :-5 :-5 :-5
I am nobody..nobody is perfect...therefore I must be Perfect!

Edit.

Practically all of it has a humorous slant.

Examples : The use of cell phones in public places where everyone is forced to endure private conversations, or, the lack of quality tv programming. Things like, has advertising gone too far. It's basically the middle aged, bemoaning the fact that many parts of our lives seem to be taken over by unwanted forces.

Not my idea of fun - I had in mind just some "grumpy" comment about what irks

us, or has happened to us that's extremely irritating. Not a forum for attacking

people, or necessarily for debating what irritates us (although I'm sure talk of

that kind might occur, and might be worthwhile). As for various comments about

moderating... 'pin 'eck. Beyond the pale.

C'mon Cher, I bet if you thought about it you could come up with a list of irritating things that get on your wick.

If you can't then you could always moan about people who moan! :wah:

You're absolutely right, Katy :)

I'm no angel -- I just try to look at things positively most of the time

In fact

I've been told

one of the most irritating things about me is my positive attitude

Now *that* really ticks me off

well not really

In our local paper, we have a whole column (it's called "Ticked Off") devoted to this kind of thing exactly. This is such a good idea. People send in (for the newspaper) things that irritate them. We have a local radio station that, in turn, takes some of the things that appear in the column and read them over the air. What's usually so funny is that I hear things that were in the column and I think, "Ok, so that annoys someone else too - it ISN'T just me!" LOL

Great idea, Bill.

Oh I have a legit complaint now that I know how this game works.....

I really am bugged when these jerks who drive the big half ton trucks (seriously men... get over yourselves just because you have "little man syndrome" you do not need a big truck) and drive like they are phecking bull moose on the road, they cut us little jap cars off endlessly, the tail gate, the talk on cells and half lean out their windows and act like they are better than the rest of us cause they are bigger and higher than us. I honestly can't tell you how many have nearly wiped me out on our freeway, either by cutting me off, or nearly rear ending me... and ... and oh yeah feel it build here.... they NEVER let me in.

A$$'$

may I be excused now.

Good thread, Bill :)

A couple peeves of mine:

When the person in front of me in the checkout line has a baby or small child and they allow the kid to suck all over the money they're going to give the cashier. Or the child puts the coins up his nose. Then the mom makes a big deal of the child giving the money to the cashier. Then that cashier gives me back some of that snotty, dirty money in my change.

People who fail to wash their hands in the restroom. Or if they don't use soap. Especially when it's your waitress or cook!!

And I was great at it :)

Sometimes when I go into other MD offices

I think "Why on earth is this person dealing with people?" :-5

Cher, I imagine you are excellent in the public relations field! You come across so well on here!

Pinky, I agree with the phone toddlers! It's not cute! And how about when parents get their two year old to talk on the answering machine?! :-5 Oy!!

I'm not trying to pick on kids here, I just have a lot of beefs (beeves??) about kid stuff.

I cannot drink after a child. I see moms who drink out of their kid's glass even though there's milk and cookie sludge all around the rim and I feel queasy. :o

I have gone through raising a child, Red, but I agree with you on this - I could never do it either!

the rim of their glass.

I agree heartilly Suzy but you know what's worse??

With 3 dogs & new pup now, i could lynch non poo pickers.

Taking this pack into the park, they run off in various directions. You watch them like hawks & up above in the distance you see one of your pack strike the pose for a poo.

Your eyes are glued to the spot---You follow, poo bag at the ready---you arrive at the spot your dog put her butt down---You pick it up---You realise it's cold poo---It belongs to another dog who left the scene days ago. Your nearly sick, the bile rises in your throat cos you have picked up some selfish pigs dogs poo for them.---You then scan every blade of grass for your dogs poo---can you find it? No--it vanishes into thin air.

This begs the question---why do i not bat an eye lid at picking up my dogs poo yet retch at others??

I heard on the news--they are doing away with poo bags---it's apparently not going to be an offense to leave your dog poo where it lays any more. The reason----the government says plastic poo bags do not biograde in land fill sites. Far better to leave poo to the elements as it will biograde quicker. I look forward to being awash with dog poo.

You never see white dog poo any more do you???
