Hullo!
I'm priviliged to have been invited to join your lovely forum, by an existing member...... who recommends you all as a fantastic bunch of people, and dear friends.
A little about me........
I like to think I've got a wicked and dry sense of humour. I have many barriers and don't let people in easily, but when I do, I hold on to friends, defend them to the hilt and am fiercly loyal.
I can be a little controversial, and have been described by my friends as both cantankerous and caring.
I like a good debate, and have views on almost EVERYTHING! (a work in progress) I can be a little cutting and sharp tongued if unhappy but don't find it difficult to say I'm sorry, and mean it.
I'm 30 yrs old (soon to be 31) and live with my lovely boyf - who is patient and caring. I don't have any children, but would like a couple in the future if possible.
I work as a Resourcing Specialist, so any queries on UK employment law - send my way. Also studied Fine Art, so urgent questions about the Renaissance, Cubist, Impressionist, Surreaslist periods - ask away *doesn't hold breath*
Anyhoo - that's me!

No - Leonardo was not gay - although Michelangelo was, and there really was something wrong with that in Renaissance Florence. Under Savonarola, gays were imprisoned and worse.......
If you are interested, the Agony and the Ecstasy is a great, and very accurate portrayal.
(FYI - Leonardo and Michelangelo each decorated sides of the Palazzo vecchio)

I have no idea why your heart skipped a beat ( unless of course you were checking out my profile pic) It was just a fun throw away question. I honestly was not concerned in his sexuality but I'm glad you felt it important enough to answer. Oh by the way welcome to the forum.

I've not dared to look at your profile, your smouldering personality has scared me already! *snigger*
My heart skipped a beat because the whole Savonarola episode is a big passion of mine, and I was enjoying writing a response. I need to get out more!

Yep - I heard from Vics. She came up to Wokingham on Friday but only gave me an hours notice, and I had plans!
I'm probably going to go and see her in a couple of weeks.

Favourite style - I particularly like the renaissance and pre-raphelite movements, although enjoy cubism, and pointilism.
Studies Michelangelo in great depth, from his childhood through adulthood. This man overcame many many challenges and threats to end up where he is. I've visited his tomb and seen most of his work first hand. Particularly like the last judgement and creation of Adam. His statue of David reduced me to tears the first time I saw it aged 17.
I did study art, and consider myself kinda talented... I enjoy painting and sculpture.
yes! I've smelled mothballs a few of times - like good cheese, the experience is different and unique!
