I get up and do the christmas morning hooplas. cook pancakes and bacon or a breakfast casserole for the early morning festivities and then i go to my grannys for lunch. all my mom's extended family is there. more food than i can ever eat. and we spend the day talking and laughing about ole times when all the cousins were little and all the stuff we used ot do. like the time i got a screw driver and took all the bolts and screws out of papa's tractor. and it only gets better from there.......it's the best part of christmas to me.:-4

Ive always always gone to my mam's for xmas day and this year is no exception, ive only missed 1 year and sadly that was my dad's last xmas..but we cant see what's round the corner can we, thank god!
Were thinking that next year we'll have to have xmas at our house though as LL will be 3 and it seems a bit of a hassle hiking her pressies to mams only to bring them back later on that night.
Im so looking forward to it though

I spend the morning with my 3 boys, we read the Bible and pray before gifts are opened (tradition we started when 17 year old was 3 years old). Then they rip and tear, we eat lunch and play with toys/games...Then I meet their Father and he takes and spends the evening with them...I get to come home to the "disaster" and clean up and relax... that's been the last 2 Christmas's...We get together with family and friends before Christmas day of course...

We wake up with both kids jumping on us with their sacks from Father Christmas.
We go down stair and marvel how Father Christmas has left sooty foot prints on the door mat, eaten all but some crumbs of his mince pie and drunk all his milk. Also at what messy eaters the reindeers are by the state of the carrots and parsnip (which is of course what makes rudolphs nose shine red).
The children open all there Father Christmas presents and we get ready for the day and put on our posh clothes and make our way to Grandma's house for about 1pm.
I have the job of mashing the spuds, we come from Irish stock so we have to have about 6 different varieties of spuds.. *rolls eyes* and we finish dinner about 3pm when we have our christmas pud and break our teeth on wrapped up silver coins my mum puts in for us to find.
We then have all the sweeties under the sun and pull the crackers and tell the god awful jokes and wear silly hats.
We then clear up and then open all of our gifts under the tree which normally takes us up to 6pm in which time it's time for tea!!:wah:
We then lie on the floor groaning that we have tummy ache.:-3
We normally blame the sprouts..not the millions of naughty otherthings we've consumed.
Then we do it all again the next day with the other side of the family..

This seems to have been the pattern in recent times. My Mom stays at mine on Christmas Eve and there's just the two of us. On Christmas morning I take my Mom back to her flat and then drive over to pick my brother up. Then we go back to my Moms and I help him to cook the dinner. After dinner, I drive over here again to pick my daughter up and take her back to my Moms. At the end of the day, I drive my brother home and then me and my daughter come back here :driving:

Seeing as you're already out there driving around, could I book Krams Cabs to pick my Mum up and drop her here, then do a return journey with her at about 6pm?
