Just feeling kinda frienly/aguementative :sneaky: . Anyone like Windows/Linux more than macs?? My side is with apple. They have better, faster, more innovative and original programs.
Nope? noone? Not at all?

Better, faster, more innovative and original programs, however general, are still specific to a given area of application. Those on the mac focus in one area, those on other platforms have their niche. I wouldn't, for example, try to develop a control program for a washing machine CPU on a mac, I'd use a linux box. Were I editing a master copy of a feature film shot in HDV I'd choose a mac. Were I looking to use word processor that started from power-on in less than two seconds and had the most efficient function-key layout known to man or beast, I'd boot my BBC Model B with the Laserjet 4 hung off the parallel port and revel in the delights of Acorn View. You pays your money and you takes your choice.

When flower power came along I stood for Human Rights, marched around for peace and freedom, had some nooky every night - we took it serious.
Who has a spare two minutes to play in this month's FG Trivia game! ... My other OS is Slackware.

Look at it this way: You want to make a Presentation? WINDOWS PowerPoint. You want to make a Presentation? APPLE keynote. Apple does almost everything that windows can do, with the exception of a word Processor, and so much more. Windows get viruses from opening an interesting webpage (especially in IE) but in a mac it asks you if you want to upgrade your browser and if you want the pop-up-blocker strong or extra strong (bit of a hyperboly on the last part of that last sentence
)

As a minor detail, I note that IE and Firefox have both asked me "if you want to upgrade your browser" this month, it's not a mac-only feature.
My BBC Model B doesn't browse the Internet. That's one of the reasons why it's a good machine to write on. The chance of distraction is lower.

All three have their pro's and con's. Window IE ask you all those questions about website and popup, and updates can happen automatically or under your control. User just choose to turn the Bloody Firewall off.
I'm the Administrator for our Network, 6 Server, and users in 5 facilities. Windows Server 2003, and Exchange Server is what I have invested time and money in why because Window's is the game for now and all others have to catchup before I change sides..
For Small to medium business it is the only way to operate sucessfully. Thats not saying it doesn't need improvement they all do.
Switching is just not cost effective to business or home users at this time.

Presumably the environment you administer isn't intended predominently as a post-production facility for a film studio, Carla. Who's having to catchup depends on what you're trying to achieve. Given different circumstances you'd be waiting to change sides from a different starting-point.

For the upgrade thing, you know why that is? because microsoft has finally gotten the tech to copy firefox code with tabs and stuff.
