So after the casinos and the river, what is there to do in Bullhead, Where does one go to do some shopping (besides Walmart) I have a dear friend who just moved there and wants me come out there when I take a retirement.:-6

We go to the Horizon Outlet Mall in Laughlin, just across the river for shopping and we are getting a Target soon. We have a Lowe's and a Home Depot. We have two more new (and big) shopping plazas being built but I don't know what stores they will carry. We have three movie theaters and some good restaurants. A communal pool is going in. We have a community college where I take enrichment courses. I would like to see more cultural and art activities in town but more than anything I would like a bus system to go in so people like me who don't drive can get to these places.

Have you been out here before? If you can't take the heat, you may want to reconsider. It gets to be at least 126 here in the summer and it's not fit for person or animal really. That's where the watersports come in.

Also we're 2 hours from Las Vegas NV and you can always do shopping and gambling there :)

She's been here before, and before. I won't carry it farther because it'd just get unnecessarily ugly.

Patsy, I moved to BHC in 1975 when I was 8. My parents wanted to get out of California. I was not in a good school, there was racial tension and my parents wanted some land of their own away from neighbors. For some crazy reason they chose BHC. It's not the prettiest town even now but it's right on the Colorado River which was a selling point then as it is now. I would have left long ago but this place lays claim to some of us.;) Even though I wasn't born here, I consider myself a native desert dweller. I forget I'm not from here.

I've been to BHC many times - on my way to Laughlin

its constantly building - like everywhere else here in AZ.

I moved here 1989 from WA. I'll never move back.

I first was there in 1979, it sure was a lot different back then, we had rented a pontoon and spent a week at lake Mohave, we also use to camp in "Crazy Horse"

this was all late 70's early 80s. I was up there this past summer before they found their house, had stayed at the Ramada Express, by that little mini mall you spoke of....it was way too hot to leave the Casino, but we did leave to look at houses. The thing that amazed me is the lots on the property are small. I understand the past couple days have been beautiful there. I like that Bear Cafe place.:)

The lots in old Bullhead and Riviera are too small, I agree. We have major housing now. And the Black Bear Cafe is a great restaurant. So are the Mexican restaurants I frequent- Iguana's and El Palacio. :)
