After the children are put down for the night or, if your just alone and single and that time of the evening comes when it hits you full in the face that you are single and you are wondering if it is ever going to change, and if opportunity knocks on your door will you have the courage to once again try..........
What do you do to pass the time besides going out with your friends to kill the empty hours..................................

I log on to forums to see how the other half lives!
Often I ride my bike to nowhere. Stop someplace and have a drink and talk to strangers.
Or I'll take a walk to the river and sit.
Or go up the street and talk to the hookers when they're on break.

You learn alot. And that's what it's all about.
I take this time in my life to learn. To grow.

I used to lose myself in mindless games...my "get away"....
Now, ummm I talk on Forums, much more informative, although sometimes it's upsetting lately, when people want to argue...I'm not about that...
I have been a single mom for about 4 years now...been very lonely, but NEVER alone!!:wah:

I don't have kids Indian Princess, and I don't feel hours without other people are empty to be honest? I am sorry you feel lonely, its always a hard feeling, the odd time I can feel a little lonely, but not very often really. What I do with my time, well, I write, I play music, I do go out with friends, I mess here on FG, I go for wallkies with young Frodo me dog, I don't watch much TV only on occasion, I work, I do classes, I socialize with the ladies on occasion, I dunno I find that I usually don't have time to ponder myself that much, which is cool, I like being single really, though having a partner is also nice as well, we all need someone generally unless we are monks or nuns, anyways, hope you are not feeling to lonely now me dears. :-6

Same for me really but I also like gardening, reading, cycling.
It's harder when you're younger to be 'alone'. There are lots of hobbies and opportunities to learn that you can do in the evening....look for forums for singles maybe, but be VERY careful....good luck and 'chin up' xxx

Oh I LOVE reading, I am a complete bookworm, I just read "The View from The Centre of the Universe" its a great book, that tries to give meaning and a human perspective to all our scientific discoveries, its brill!

There was a time, years ago, when I was exactly in your shoes. And I can remember exactly the way you are feeling. It WAS at night after the kids were tucked in... that my new " Staus" would hit me. A mom, without the dad. It is lonely and scary. I had many hobbies.Reading, sewing, gardening.
I definately missed having another adult around. Someone mentioned that this time alone, was a time to learn. That is very true. Enjoy this time to learn about yourself, think about what you want, and where you want your life to go. A very good friend, gave me a piece of advice, years ago. He said " When you are lonely, there is always someone waiting for you, who will not be good for you. We didnt have computers back then. If we did, I would have spent time here.

Yes! I am not alone in this thing!
I read, do not watch tv and for the most part , I am ok with the alone thing, Its just when life gets toooooooooo scary and my ex torments me,that I get scared.
But then thats what jesus is for me Peace of mind.
Sometimes ya just gotta hear you are not alone.
