Dream analysis - Pinky et all

Post by Elvira »

I'm very interested in dream analysis, and have read quite a few books on this subject.

Pinky, thought you might be interested in an (amateur) analysis of your dream (hoped that you'd have PM'd Hammy if you didn't want others sticking their beaks in)

To dream of travelling signifies a road towards your goals. This could mean that you have done something that takes you that little bit closer to a goal, or that you are thinking seriously about doing something that has been a dream of yours.

To dream that you are wearing a wig, signifies some kind of mistrust or deception. I don't know if this is in conjunction with the travelling, and perhaps you fear sabbotage, or what? Guess it depends on the relationship you have with those featured in the dream.

Insight or a load of ole tosh?

OOohh yay! I'm pleased!

I once had a dream a close friend was straightening my hair, and she had the same dream on the same night. (touching someone elses hair signifies a spiritual connection with that person)

A while ago I kept having dreams about being at parties and whirling around the dancefloor with a friend from work, only to look down and discover he'd turned into a groteque looking dwarf, who then threw ice-cream over me!

Snooze came up with a somewhat Freudian explanation:lips:

Dancing is supposed to signify freedom from constraints, and general wellbeing, and to dream of someone very small/ dwarf, could mean that you are a very grounded person.

Okay, what does it mean when you dream you are defending a ship that is able to sail up the main street of towns by throwing exploding pound coins at terrorists? Also, what does it mean when a semetic man is trying to buy your shoes in tipperary in a dream, also what does it mean when you are tied to a cross upside down and a crow is singing in your ear some kinda music while the building you are in is burning?

I have had all these dreams, and many others that are too weird to remember, so whats going on in my head?

Also I have a recurring dream where my gums soften and my teeth fall out, whats that about?

The teeth falling out is a very common 'stress' dream. It simply means that you are stressed at that time.

I'll have a think about the others if you like - need to disect.

This isn't a particularly happy dream. Firstly to dream that you are being crucified means that you are punishing yourself for something. The crow is usually seen as a messenger from your subconcious, or representative of your darker side. To see a burning building means that you are experiencing intense emotions.

Sounds like you could have been having a tough time around then...

I dream all kinds of weird stuff all the time.

How about dreaming and being lucid in the dream and you're entering what looks lie a castle and down the back of the room I see a lady with dark hair just standing there and while dreaming I'm thinking who is this lady in my dream. I then just woke up. It was a very palatial setting.

THe semetic, I have no idea about at all, but shoes generally are about your approach to life.

The ship one, is pretty clear to me. A ship is all about your emotions and how you handle them. Was it a rough voyage or smooth and peaceful? Exploding coins at terrorists? I would say that the terrorist (like a bully) aspect could mean that you have been feeling disempowered, or that your emotions are getting out of control. A bomb or explosion could mean that you are worried about bottled up emotions.

Another stressful time?

Very few people have truly lucid dreams - when you can actually control what is happening in them. If you are able to, then I would suggest that you are quite a spiritual person and open minded.

To dream of a castle is about reward or recognition. Have you done something you're proud of, or perhaps you feel unrewarded? The lady in your dream represents a part of yourself that you keep hidden. (you need to find out who she is, by looking at that part of yourself)

Hey G, I've often had the ship up the main street one. I also throw coins. Wow that's funny. They weren't terrorists though. :-2 :)

This is simple, it's about your own libido. Depends on how you are feeling in the dream when you are having sex.

Flipping a coin can signify irrational thoughts.

Cool thanks, I lucid dream all the time, it's actually quite tiring but I've had some freaky things happen. I really have a feeling that the woman was someone else though. She was staring at me. Was weird. Thanks so much. :)

The fact that she was staring at you simply means that it's very important that you take a look at that part of yourself. Urging you to find out 'who she is'

Cool thanks Elvira, another one I had when I was lucid was I was after running into what appeared to be like a little butcher shop and I sensed I was in Russia, they were speaking a language to me that sounded like russian and I got the impression that I was a 17 year old male who was on the run from some group that were trying to find me. Anyway in the middle of all this I become really lucid so I do the usual thinking I will have a look around. I walked up really close to the people and was having a good look thinking hm interested they are mostly strangers and then I looked really closely at one guy and went oh gosh you're Alex. Alex is an ex from my past. Now the guy in the dream didn't look at all like Alex but for some reason I was totally convinced it was him.

No WAY! You are the only person who has also had these dreams that I know, and you are Irish, mental, I wonder, well Elvira's analysis seems reasonable enough, that ship dream was years ago, but I never forgot it, as was the crucified one, but the shoe one was only about a week ago, interesting alright.

I would take the crucified one to mean that you are literally feeling guilty and punishing yourself about something. (In your subconscious). Did you even consider the priesthood and then decide not to go ahead with it??

When you say semitic do you mean of arabic heritage? I would interpret this dream to mean that maybe in your opinion somebody of this culture is over confident of their success in something.

But I'm not an expert :D

Weird dream no 1 - I was training to be an estate agent (!) and ended up trapped in this really dilapidated loft with other people and we were then attacked by a swarm of flying woodlice.

Weird dream no 2 - my daughter was kidnapped and no-one was taking me seriously when I said that the kidnappers were going to kill her. I was shouting to the police when the first jiffy bag arrived with her thumb in it (horrible, horrible dream)

I can't remember what was going on when I had that strange dream with the cross and the crow, it was very gothic and movie-like, probably something stressful going on then whatever it was, though my interest in being a Catholic priest was always about zero I must say, maybe subconsciously, then again, no.

As for the man, well he was semitic, but that can mean Jew, Arab, Christian, anyone from the Levant and the middle east, I remember in my dream trying to work out who he was, but I couldn't, but he was a nice fella, very posh, and he was offering a good price, but I woke up before I could decide whether to sell em to him or not. Interesting though, as always. :-6

I guess I just have a strong subconcious, and I can remember the mental ones, I tend to dream less than I used, or remember less, but I still have pretty cool ones and its great! :)
