Let me see if I got this right....if you take vitamins you risk dying? So, if you don't take them, then what? You live forever? I mean, breathing causes death too.

I read a more extensive article on this, I'll see if I can find it. This study

may be slightly flawed.

In any case, if you wait long enough, purt near everything you can

consume will go in and or out of favor.

Coffee's bad for you... no it's not. Eggs are bad for you... no they're

not. Butter's (;) ) bad for you... margerine's worse.

Margerine is deadly, that I have no doubt about.

A wonderful article in New Scientist a few years ago proving that distilled water was cacinogenic.

It was basically debunking a previous article that claimed the sacherine was a carcinogen. They used exactly the same technique but without the sacherine and produced the same results :wah:

Yes I do. I firmly believe in vitamins. With the processed foods we have today and the way most of us eat, it's hard to get all the vitamins and minerals one needs just from eating.

I did recently learn from my eye doctor that people who have the eye disease called macular degeneration should not take beta carotene if they smoke. The smoking and beta carotene do not mix well and it does worse for the person, increasing the bleeding. My dad has MD and smokes and of course he's been taking a vitamin with BC in it. You really have to keep abreast of this stuff. Thanks Soberano for the info.

My parents have been taking vitamins for years...They actually take anywhere from about 4-6 vitamin supplements a day from my own observation...

They both have just had a health examination, and they both are as healthy as ever...

I wouldn't dismiss any study that may seem to suggest that vitamins may be unhealthy for anyone to consume regularly, but it would take alot more than just a simple "he said, she said" rumor to get me to believe they "cause death"...I mean that's a pretty dramatic conclusion.

I'll read more about it though...As this isn't the only time I've heard of vitamins being a health risk.

There is a good rebuttal of that report here

and Mercola also has a go at it on his Video from March the 1st here He was on holiday in MAWI at the time so you have to put up with his ghastly choice of summer shirtwear or do as I do and don't watch just listen.

Meta-analysis on Antioxidants Provides Muddled Conclusions

—Body of Scientific Research Shows Antioxidants Provide Benefits for Maintaining Good Health—

Vitamin D status in the UK shows that with almost 9 out of 10 UK residents being vitamin d insufficient in the Winter the current amounts of vitamin d in supplements is inadequate. This is why we have more infection and death in the Winter. Cod liver oil is a good way of sorting both Vitamin d and omega 3 status if you take a desertspoonful of the liquid form. The Vitamin D Council have links to good cheap USA sources of Cholecalciferol Vit D3 for those who really want to protect their children from cancer when they grow up. It is your vitamin d status while you are developing, ie under 20yrs that really makes a difference for MS and Breast Cancer incidence.

WHAT WAS THE MESSAGE FROM THE ANTIOXIDANT META ANALYSIS? Bill Sardi's take on the matter.

It may help some of our other readers here understand what is going on with the Pharmaceutical Industry if they spend a bit of time improving their Knowledge of Health
