Varekai - Cirque du Soleil

Post by AussiePam »

Has anyone seen this? It may be premiering in Australia. Not sure. Anyway, I scored a ticket for Sunday week. Looking forward to it. I was lucky enough to see Quidam in Vancouver a couple of years ago. Is anyone else a Cirque fan?

Hi Chonsi. There's something totally surreal about the Cirque du Soleil. Straight Commedia dell'Arte too.

Here's the theme:

http://www.cirquedusoleil.com/CirqueDuS ... efault.htm

"Deep within a forest, at the summit of a volcano, exists an extraordinary world—a world where something else is possible. A world called Varekai.

From the sky falls a solitary young man, and the story of Varekai begins. Parachuted into the shadows of a magical forest, a kaleidoscopic world populated by fantastical creatures, this young man sets off on an adventure both absurd and extraordinary. On this day at the edge of time, in this place of all possibilities, begins an inspired incantation to life rediscovered. "

I've never seen them 'live' Pam, but I have at least 12 DVDs of their shows....absolutely fantastic.....I MUST try and get to the RAH next year to see them. They come to the UK every year.

Enjoy and let us know about the show.:-6
