They have some pretty fierce flash floods in that part of the country.

I keep track of temp and weather at the locations of my kids and friends, yesterday it was warmer in the UK, on the river Merser, than in Phoenix Az.!:-3

The topography of these areas is such that these floodings are par for the course. They waterways don't fill up as often as they would seem to be needed to do in order to make the banks of the rivers as high as they are supposed to be.

On the other hand isn't this going to put a lot of water back into the water table?

Neighbours upstairs went out and now their water is pouring down into my bedroom. Shades of Twilight Zone. Da-da-da-daa. El bucket brigade to action.
