Transferring video from a camera...

Post by K.Snyder »

I'm trying to transfer the video I had captured from my HP Photosmart E317 digital camera to my computer, but I cannot find anywhere where I can do that...

Does anyone know if I can and if so can you explain it to me?...

I've tried googling it but I cannot find any information about it...Only transferring pictures...

I'm probably going to be stupid here. I couldn't find anything on your camera but I was reading for a Sony about using either a USB cable or else inserting the memory card into the pc and assuming the video pops up, dragging it to the desktop...? I'm wondering if you require something like Windows Movie Maker. I thought of Firewire but I think that's for Mac.

What have you tried doing so far?

Ok...

Sorry...

I switched the USB option on my camera to "Disk Drive" and that enables me to have alot more options including viewing the video I had captured whereas with it still on "Digital Camera" it only allowed for the transfer of regular pictures...

I use Nero Vision, part of the Nero7 software. It gives various ways of importing video. If your Camera is linked by USB, it should appear as an extra drive, so you can transfer from it, to your editing software! But you do need some form of video editing software.
