Hello from China..
Hello SeanChen, welcome to ForumGarden.
I was reading about Guangdong last month in a book about the Long March. The photos show it to be a very beautiful part of China.
We had a legal practitioner called ANITA0101 here last summer. She's from China and she'd been in England once for a year on a university course.

Now is that really nessecary necessary ? Your from somewhere in Canada, not the aethers of the continuum. Thats just going to confuse the new Chinese person and everyone knows we dont want to make the Chinese mad.

Hi Anita I remember you too. I think you threw jam at me but that was a long time ago. Dont worry about fuzzy butt, she lives in Australia. Need I say more ?

Hello from China..
Anita101 my Niece is on the US women's Olympic Soccer team. She has nothing but praise for how nice the Chinese people are and how welcome they have made the entire team, in fact all the teams feel. You should be proud.

ALOHA!!

Hello from China..
Welcome Sean Chen! Nehih ho ma? I visited Guangzhou and Xinhui in Guangdong province... when I was in China last... two years ago. It's very nice there.
I don't speak much Cantonese, but I do speak rather fluent Mandarin. I know another member on here who speaks both, however. Anyway welcome to The Garden!

Welcome Sean and hi ANITA !! It's always wonderful to have people here from different countries. I don't speak any Chinese but worked for many years with a girl from Beijing. We became good friends.

Hello from China..
Question: Can ANITA (or anyone else) explain why the hell there was a pipe band in the opening ceremony???
An ye harm none, do what ye will....
Hello from China..
Hi, Cookie: the general director said he invited different music bands from five continents in the world to perform at the ceremony during the time the athletes entering. The pipe band is just one of them.

Yeah, I noticed African drummers.
The penguin orchestra from Antarctica was superb!
Still, the pipes won, hands down, IMO.
Gotta love the pipes!

We are very excited about the opening night and we are very proud and honoured to be here representing Scotland at the Olympics as well as being officially here to represent the European continent."
Well the celts are one of the oldest european tribes and the bagpipe an ancient musical instrument
I never saw them, pity.
