Statue of Liberty and Twin Towers

Post by Pheasy »

For mothers day my hubby and Josh and Lucy took me to the Statue of Liberty and Twin Towers - we took a boat trip to each site. It was an awesome day, just wanted to share some of the pics we took. Pheasy :-4

Thanks Chonsi - we had a great time. The Twin Towers site was very sad - we saw the remains of the site, but the most moving was all the pictures and possessions of those who died. It was fantastic to be so close to the Statue of Liberty. Josh and Lucy loved the boat trip. When we stopped at NY - there were 4 guys who put on such an impressive show - Josh thought they were fantastic and wanted to watch them all day.

That's pretty cool, Pheasant! I've always wanted to cruise past Liberty and see it for my own self, for real instead of just on TV or something. Did you love that part? :)

Great pix Pheas, thanks for sharing part of your day with us. :)

Back in 99, we took a cruise leaving from NY pier that sailed past the Statue, as well as the "still standing" Twin Towers, what an awesome sight. I only have video pix, so can't post.

My son Josh is 12, he really was quite tired by the time we got to the towers site. The other porblem is, that being from the UK, sadly he is more used to hearing about this sort of thing. He was more moved by the centre as it had lots of sad reminders from the children who lost a parent. As with your younger son, Lucy aged 6, could not understand why we were looking at a big whole in the ground.
