I've been trying to forget my problems for the weekend so I've been watching forensic and crime shows all last night and all day today.
People are freaking crackpots.
Killing each other for stupid stuff like a lousy ten thousand dollar insurance policy. Poisoning their wives and kids with arsenic, dismembering people and scattering their parts throughout the state, burying their wives in makeshift coffins and leaving them in their garage for twenty years, shooting each other, stabbing each other, screwball cops raping and killing young women they've pulled over, tying cinder blocks to their victims and throwing them in the ocean alive, etc etc etc...
I need to go to my happy place now. I can only handle so much of that.
It makes me not want to know people.
Bleah.

I enjoy watching them too. But It makes me wonder about the craziness of what people will kill for. And they believe they will not get caught, that is the thing.

Yeah Marie! And it amazes me the technology these criminologists are able to use to peg the killers!
But you're right...they all think they can get away with it...it's creepy.

dever notice it is usually for money. It is amazing. Saw one today about a woman convicted of killing her wealthy husband. He was many years older than her. She was poor when they married (I missed the beginning, do not know how they met). She was convicted of hiring three guys to break into the house and kill her husband. This happened in the mid 80's. She is up for parole in 2014 and still insists she is innocent.

That's crazy. Just crazy.
Last night I watched one about some rich socialite couple. The wife killed her husband in their house and then she and some other dude butchered him in the bathtub. Then she continued to live in that same house for about ten years more. Presumably using that same bathtub! I don't get murdering someone but even more I can't comprehend cutting up someone's body. That's just beyond my scope of understanding. And then to keep living where it happened! Yucck!!

Why wouldn't I read it, Magenta?
It gave a lot of interesting information. I still wonder though just what exactly it is that pushes a person over that line between just weird and dangerous.
Is it a brain chemical imbalance? Is it environment? What is it?
