I've always liked the picture, so I thought I'd have a go at sketching it!

I once did a mural of cherubs in my bathroom, but someone didn't like it.:-5

Well 'someone' who ever that may be, should of stayed out of your bathroom! - cos if the cherubs were as good, then the bathroom probably looked great. Draw them again pleeeese, then I'll copy them for my bathroom :-4

Pinky that is very good.I used to be good at drawing but don't have the time or inclination any more. Keep it up one day you may illustrate yor own book of poetry.

Speaking of Jimbo has he gone a bit quiet?Must admit I have not had much time to get on the forum much these last few days.

Your invitation is a tad provocative, like..."Wanna see my etchings?" :wah:

Nice sketch, by the way. I like to sketch myself...mostly faces. No scanner here, though, to share what I can do.

that's beautiful Pinks, you know I read someplace that characters in cartoons both on paper and on TV only have a thumb and 3 fingers because hands are so difficult to draw.

You'll have to get a scanner, I'm sure loads of us would love to see your stuff!

This is a photo of a painting I did years ago. As you can see, no hands are visible. They are indeed difficult to portray.

The green of the shirt really give the picture a rich tone too. Gives a nice focal point.

(Blushing)...........Thanks for the comments.:)

I like the shading ability pencil sketching gives. A good set of pencils helps. My painting style is rather primitive....but I enjoy doing it when I have a chance.

Nice work Pinky... I always keep a sketch book on my person. Although, lately I haven't seemed to have much extra time to slow down and make a sketch or two...

Damn you are good! Do you still draw/paint whatever? That is a talent you should not waste. My parent badgered me into doing art coz I was 'talented' but the more they pushed me the less I wanted to do it. Now I only paint when I have the need to. You know what I mean? Sometimes you just NEED to paint or draw. it's like you need to get the stuff out or you will burst? :o Sorry, maybe thats only me? :wah:

Art only impresses me if it is something I can't do myself. I am very impressed Pinky! :-6

Things like Folk Art does not impress me cause I can draw like a first grader, too. In fact that is the only way I can draw :wah:

Recently I tried doing a portrait of a friend from a 4x6 color photo....but the photo wasn't very clear, especially around the mouth, which is something you simply can't guess at....I'm throwing it out since the mouth isn't right. I was trying out these charcoal pencils....made by Ritmo, which oddly enough went out of business, or so I heard. I'll try and post a photo of the drawing....this is the first time for me top post a pic on this particular site, so it may not happen.
