We've got a plan, folks!

Kathy Ellen has the perfect seaside location with a bunch of motels nearby. The details sound fabulous and it starts like this:

Seaside Park, New Jersey and the next town is Seaside Heights. There is an Italian restaurant that will deliver food to us. So we can sit out back and be served nice food

I think the snow is usually still around until April. It would be nice to get a little warmth involved in the weather but if we get too close to summer then we're fighting with everyone else who wants to holiday in our space. It seems a bit far off to set it almost a year from now but it gives lots of time for people to make arrangements

The only other option is to try one in Autumn this year before it gets cold. We could try both.

Mmmmm. Sleazeside.;)

No offense to Kathy. It's a Jersey thang.

And Italian food in Seaside? Heh. Go Figure.

Seaside is fun. Good choice.

Now all repeat after me.

Not a question. A statement.

Ok I'm confuzzled already...do we meet up in separate towns or are these two close to each other?

What is the airport I'd need to fly into? (I want to check this out early)

I'm good for either season. I'm glad it's a ways off because I have to iron some stuff out before I split out of town. That's just speaking for myself though.

If you look at the members map, Kathy Ellen lives in the ocean... so just get the pilot to crash and you'll be right there. :wah:

um... seriously though, folks...

If we stick to the spring then we'll get the most people there I think late May ought to do it. It'll be getting warmer then.

Not sure about the airports and I think the towns are really close together but KE will have to confirm the details.

Airport is a tough call. Newark or Atlantic City.

Either way it's still a haul to Seaside.

If you're flying into an airport we'll have to figure out who can pick you up that will be driving. In that case, try to make sure it's not a crazy ass airport that will result in years of therapy for any traveler trying to approach it.

it's likely to be in May 2008, Suzy. We're going for the extra time to get as many in as possible. She's in New Jersey. On the coast but kind of central to a few other members.

Or are there any local airports that are less stressful. I don't find Newark too bad - Philadelphia is a nightmare!!

I was gonna say, the New York airports can be nightmares...but then again, all I have to offer is DC airports...yikes!! Actually BWI isn't bad...a lot of people prefer BWI to National and Dulles

Let's say the third week of May then. :-6

If we get an idea of how many people are coming then we should be able to get a discount on motel rooms by booking them in advance. KE can look into the best deals and figure out which motel is in the best condition. Sounded like they were all at reasonable rates.

Well, we need a good description of the place but it sounds like we can have bonfires and such on the beach with a permit. So we'll have a 5 day beach party :yh_tong2

I think it's good if we have somewhere nearby to retire to though. But... My guess is that we won't need one bed per member.

Newark is the best bet for an organized, stress free airport.

Seaside police won't allow sleeping overnight on the beaches. If they find you they will make other sleeping arrangements for you.

Trust me.:-5

Sounds good to me. You know the area.

So third week of June.

Angeleyes... I'm just saying that when we had the meet up in Birmingham anyone who wanted to come back to the house came and we found somewhere for everyone to sleep. So if we booked 6 or 7 rooms and it turned out more people showed up we'd still find a way to get everyone in a bed.
