Can we go back to good times in the FG?

I don't understand.

Who's fighting?

Everyone's been getting along I thought.

The ones who split long ago left of their own volition. They're not a part of FG to me. The people who are still here, are.

Hi Kathy Ellen.

I wasn't trying to ignore you I just didn't think I should respond.

I don't know who you're thinking of (and that's okay) but I know who I'm thinking of and those few left because they wanted to. So I don't miss them at all. But this was from some time ago so we quite possibly are thinking of not the same people. That's all.

I just thought we *were* having good times in FG. :)

I wish it would move a little faster though....

After rereading that, we probably aren't thinking of the same ones. There is someone I miss who falls into that category....

I'd have thought the way to bring someone back to the site is to talk to them wherever they currently post. I doubt whether many of them are lurking with sufficient intensity here that they'd notice an on-site discussion unless it's explicitly brought to their notice.

That sounds like a threat. Yer gonna sker the bejeezus outta 'em

Seriously... ok that was serious....

I don't think anyone is fighting.

There have been a couple of people who have come back a few times and we tried to pretend we didn't know who they were to give a fresh start but they blew it. I know that's all very obscure but the person/people who know what I mean are the ones I'm speaking to.

A bunch of people left because they thought they had to choose sides. There are no sides here. Maybe elsewhere there is but at FG people speak their minds. Sometimes we agree sometimes we don't. I've certainly never asked anyone to leave just because I didn't like them.

There are incredibly few members I've disliked (Glaswegian) and have actually found them highly entertaining... so, I hope no one left on my account. :yh_tong2

This over explanation has been brought to you by the letter Z (that's pronounced Zed, for all you yanks :D)

I'm not trying to be enigmatic.

It was just a response to "Koan will give you special treatment..."

I guess I was unsure how I got involved and posted in regards to the missing members that I might have any connection to.

Some people i miss, some i dont, funny thing is in all the years ive been here people are always going on about the good old days as if we all got along fabulous at some point. I'd love to know exactly when that was, mostly the 'good old days' was full of venom & backstabbing & those members i hope never return. Some innocents got caught up in the crossfire at that time & left because of it, its them i miss.

Its fair to say the board is slower just now & we are probably due a few larger than life characters. All forums go through such phases.

I've been here nearly 2 years now and confess to missing some people from 'the old days' who were really good mates. But things change and peoples lives change so I guess we just move on and embrace the new folks in the garden and make it flourish again.:yh_hugs

I don't see anything wrong here.

I'm comfortable and happy. I may not post much but I laugh a lot. :wah: This place reminds me of the other forum I used to be in. For some reason it went belly up and I was left high and dry. I looked around and found this place and have been here ever since.

I'm not very computer savvy and you don't have to be to be here. It's big, though, and there are still places I haven't seen.

I like the discussions and the people, controversial or not.
When choosing between two evils, I always like to take the one I've never tried before.

I havent been here long enough to miss the good ole days, or the people who left as i didnt know em:wah: But i think its generally ok in here, just the same as in RL wherever you get a large group of people together they are not or never all going to agree. It just cant be all lovey dovey and hunky dorey all the time, thats not realistic. Although i am lovey dovey all the time:D :wah: well 99.9% of the time. :-3

It is just one of those things. Many groups just dwindle as people move on.I think this is a great group.I have seen so many go down the pan when there has been a flame war as people feel uncomfortable and leave.I have not been here very long so I do not know what happened in the past, but it is good to see how well the members seem to get on and any difference of opinion does not escalate.

I love the mix of people here, all ages different backgounds and religions, all this contributes to a great group.

I'm still here too. I've seen the calm times, the rifts times, and the flaming times causing FG members to come & go. And then back to the calm times. It will always be an ever changing cycle, just like IRL.

When I first joined FG I was amazed at how much time I spent in the Garden. Actually too much time, as many of my other tasks & things were suffering. Now-a-days, I drop in whenever I can, as I'm not always by a putter! Like we just got back from a 2 day mini vacation today, it was great. But there were no putters in the hotel, so . . . . !! :)
