China has banned 50 video games currently enjoyed by Western audiences. China has done this to create a "good environment" for Chinese children to grow up. This follows up other bans last year.
This new list includes games such as "The Sims 2", "Age of Mythology" "Battlefield: Vietnam" and "FIFA 2005".
What do think of this action? Is the banning of certain games a practice that should be practiced on a global scale, or is China flexing its ideological muscles and overreacting?

I haven't read the article - but I'm sure GTA is on the list. That one is banned in my home too!

I can understand some of the logic about the violent ones or where chinese history is altered (in their eyes) (germany has banned some showing nazis. But FIFA 2005? doesn't make a lot of sense for a nation that wants the host the world cup. Never played it so maybve there is something offensive like chinese teams being beaten or no chinese teams at all.
