A group of American teens come to Ireland to visit an Irish school friend who takes them on a camping trip in search of the local, fabled magic mushrooms. When the hallucinations start taking hold, the panicked friends are attacked by ghostly creatures; never able to determine if they are experiencing gruesome reality or startling delirium. When one teenager unknowingly eats the dangerous Death's Head mushroom, the group's nightmare takes a deeply sinister turn...

The movie's producers must have been so annoyed. It gets scripted that way because magic mushrooms were legal in Ireland, they start putting the movie together, they pass the point of no return and bang, the Irish government bans them in January last year. The whole plotline disintegrates. I wonder if they had insurance?

You're not coming back, goodgem? I wondered whether you wanted to talk about it rather than just fly-post. http://www.google.com/search?source=ig& ... gle+Search does tend to imply that you're just walking through with a pastebrush.

I bet the script-writers screwed up on the time it takes for the death-cap to kill people. "Death generally occurs six to sixteen days after the poisoning", for example, and "due to the delay between ingestion and the first symptoms of poisoning, it is commonplace for patients to arrive for treatment many hours after ingestion".

Death-Cap, note. Not Death's Head. The one exists, the other doesn't.

There's a death's head hawk moth, I wonder whether it was one of them?

The whole thing sounds like rubbish, though - how could they be attacked by "ghostly creatures"? I bet they were just people, dressed up.

I'm not a lover of Horror films although I liked Silence of the lambs, Carrie, The exorcist. I like psychological thrillers and some of them are pretty gory but at least there is 'story' behind them.

Oh you mean thats what those mushrooms were then??? :yh_hypno :yh_hypno And now I understand why we have so many American teenagers walking around here tripping of their heads seeing leprechauns. :wah: I have to say though, a few people have died here due to extascy, many from road deaths, many from cigarettes and drinking, but how many have died from eating death caps recently, hmmmn, I must check that one out.

SYNOPSIS FOR " SHROOMS "

A group of American teenagers arrives in Ireland, keen for adventure. Despite Jake's warnings about the 'shrooms they shouldn't eat, things start to go horribly wrong and the teenagers suffer horrific visions. The panicked friends are attacked by ghostly creatures, never sure whether they are experiencing gruesome reality or startling hallucinations. As the group is bloodily whittled down to one, it is soon clear that, whether or not these apparitions are real, the carnage they leave behind certainly is."

This is really surreal behaviour. I'd love to discuss what you're doing and why.

A simple question, on the off-chance you might discuss it - are you paid in any way to promote the film?

Well, it's my fun to tell anyone to watch I like... like this upcoming horror film of Paddy Breathnach.. "SHROOMS':wah:

The moon as a skull thing has been done before. But this is a very good implementation of that concept. It cleverly includes the movie’s premise, which involves a bunch of teenagers getting high on mushrooms. And it also conveys a scary but still humorous mood, which I imagine is what the movie is going for.

Before I saw this poster I didn’t even know this movie existed. Now I’m curious about it. So, it works for me.

That's marvellous, it's taken months to get you to read the thread as well as post in it. You've finally, after all this time, responded to a question.

What would be really interesting is a thread discussing this with an undercover marketer. Would you describe yourself as one?

You dodged the question of whether you benefit financially from posting these adverts. Do you get directly paid to do it? Do you have some other connection with the makers or distributors of the film? Do you think you share any connection with fly-posters in general?

Hey the poster is intriguing! not sure about the undercover conversation happening between the two posters. What's that all about? :-2 No, I'd rather not know.

I think the poster is very clever with the mushrooms indicating the skull in the moon. Liked everything about it. The movie? Uh, probably no good, based on my past experience of contemporary horror flicks. Not that I like the bloody kind of horror movies. Those do nothing for me. And not sure if I even like horror movies anymore. Did I ever like them?

Just had to give you my 2 cents :)

Your "I did not get a direct pay for promoting this film" seems to deny that you're involved in its underground advertising campaign, which is sad. We really would like to talk here to a real live underground advertiser.

If it helps make up your mind, here's the relevant Word of Mouth Marketing Association Ethics Code Statement:We practice openness about the relationship between consumers, advocates, and marketers. We encourage word of mouth advocates to disclose their relationship with marketers in their communications with other consumers. We don't tell them specifically what to say, but we do instruct them to be open and honest about any relationship with a marketer and about any products or incentives that they may have received.

We stand against shill and undercover marketing, whereby people are paid to make recommendations without disclosing their relationship with the marketer.

Just wanted to let people know about Carmic Cars, a London based Taxi Company that’s really impressed me. Basically it’s a private hire company which uses hybrid Toyota Prius’ to take its customers from A to B.

It offers more than a greener way of being taxied around. Each car has a handheld games console, free bottled water, plug-in for Ipods and even a selection of magazines.

And to top it all off it offsets more than twice any emissions the cars generate.

One of their friendly drivers told me they will soon be rebranding as Carmic Green.

We have another viral marketer. Whoopee, lucky us. Here's one he posted earlier:Submitted by Mas on Wed, 02/01/2008 - 19:25.

Just wanted to let people know how much i have been impressed with a london based taxi company, or as they say "private hire". Carmic Cars is a green taxi company that only uses hybrid cars and then they offset 250% of the emissions. How good is that?.

The drivers are really friendly and know where they're going - but i was also seriously impressed with the fact that they have Nintendos in every car, free bottled water, magazines and even a plug in for my iPod connecting to the car stereo.

I strongly recommend using Carmic Cars, who i am told will soon be rebranding as Carmic Green.

Was anyone on FG actually curious enough to go and watch Shrooms?

The IMDB user review makes it sound like Ireland's bid to replace the films of Ed Wood in the gutter of awfulness.

I hope that they used Irish actors and not American actors trying bad Irish accents.

Julia Robers in ‘Michael Collins’ accent was terrible.

Or how about Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman in ‘Far and Away’

I would need a few shrooms to get me through more of these.

From what I can gather - like the imdb user review - this really was a home-grown honest to goodness Irish bid for Worst Scripted Film Of The Decade.

just curious on what bands/artists your listening to right now.

I’ve been listening to this artist, Rachel McGoye, she has such an amazing voice! I found her on myspace and I cant stop listening to her, lol! My favorite song is "Walk Away off her new album “Beautiful Disaster check her out if you haven’t heard of her.
