Smells that remind you of something...

Post by pinkchick »

Ok - I fully admit to thinking about the strangest things sometimes but here goes....

I've just been out to pick up some lunch. While I was out, there was a really strong smell of "Play Doh" and it just reminded me of nursery school.

So that got me thinking - do any of you have smells that remind you of something??

Right - I'm off to wait for the men in white coats:wah: :wah:

Lavender always reminds me of my Nan, when I was little and used to stay with her, we used to make lavender pouches to keep in the clothes drawers :-6

I actually hate the smell, think it was overkill with so many pouches everywhere:lips:

I opened a bag of Jersey Royals that I bought about 3 weeks ago. Some had gone bad. The smell was just like pig muck at the bottom of a sty.

Interaction with my Dad as a kid was almost non-existant, but he did collect the cards inside boxes of PG Tips tea from the factory he worked in for me. I used to get a handful every night and I'd stick them in the books they issued to collect them in. I had so many, I filled books for my mates too. Each card was impregnated with the smell of the tea. This thread came to mind this morning as I caught the smell of a teabag which evoked that rare positive memory of my Dad.
