The Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) have many many supporters in their cause for freedom. Sinn Fein/IRA and the Basque ETA are only two known in here.
The Palestinians could have freedom if they didn't insist on fighting for it. It seems they are concerned that if they back off and allow Israel to work out their freedom with them, they won't be intitled to it.
Then there is that thing about who the land belongs to. Kind of a nasty little problem.
Oh yeah, I forgot, Israel may also be concerned that the Palestinians and their Muslim supporters have said they won't rest until the Jews no longer exist.
