Aging

Post by Lon »

I find it very interesting, the rate with which we all age. Some of us look and feel younger than we are, and some look and feel much older. Our genes, life style and habits of course have a lot to do with it. I am very aware of this because of living in a community of retirees. I am grateful to my parents who both made it well into their 90's, for the genes that I apparently have. I can't hit a golf ball as far as I could when I was 40. but I am still out there at 240 yds. with my driver, and still scuba diving, playing tennis (not like a 35yr old), and other athletic endeavors. SEX??? I'm not as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was.

I hope all you FG folks exercise on a regular basis. It's important in maintaining normal blood pressure and good cardio vascular health, along with eating properly. Good health and long life to all.

I've never had a bad older lover before and it confuses me as to what men are talking about when they mention things like you have. what exactly is going on with your bodies ? Seriously I don't know, enlighten me.

Right now I'm 38 but feel what I suppose a 50 year old may feel like . Not good

Pretty simple really--------Most males in their 20's and 30's can make love all night long and have repeated orgasms, not so as you age. Secondly, due to many factors like stress, diet, health many even younger men have problems getting and maintaining an errection, thus the popularity of drugs like Viagra and Cialis.

You know that is interesting, because the majority of men that were YOUNGER than me were the ones that weren't able to last long and were asleep LONG before I was......

But I do agree with you Lon, preventitive maintenance is the key to a long life.

The upside: I'm 48 and in better physical condition than ever. I commute via bicycle most days of the week and am at the gym by 5:30 a.m. at least three days per week. I quit smoking over a year ago. I sleep like a stone.

The downside: My metabolism has slowed, partly due to the smoking cessation, and so weight management has become more problematic. My left shoulder is either arthritic or I've earned myself a vicious case of bursitis (bad work ergonomics on my part). If I'm not vigilant about trimming ear hair I begin to look like Yoda. My hearing could be better.

On balance, not too terrible.
