Old Relationships

What would you think about a 25 year old relationship that lasted 2 sexual encounters 25 years ago and has been friends since. The man is my daughters Godfather and best friend since. BTS is totally jealous. 25 years ago......go figure.

You can't tell, just from one instance, whether it's the "2 sexual encounters" bit or a clash of personalities. You need a second example to be able to draw a comparison. I'll PM you my phone number.

Bill Engvall had this same problem on TV last night ya know...his wife (new sitcom--I hardly ever watch tv and saw this late last night) slept with some star name Chris Issac or something or other and Bill was all jealous, it happened 20 years prior and they have 3 beautiful kids...blah blah blah...Bill was still jealous....go figure...

Wow, 25 years ago-how come they conveniently forget to take out the trash, when you told them only 5 minutes ago!

I have a few women friend that I have gone out with in the past, but obviously nothing that long, 25 years, I think its cool, there is always a little bit of sexual tension in the man/woman relationship if both people care bout each other, but that can be okay of the friendship is strong and honest, even if its been acted out. Of course sometimes its really just about a sexual relationship and the man/woman thing, and in that case trying to be friends dones't work out very well normally. That what most people find? I suspect so.

I have a male friend, J, (actually a friend of both my husband and myself) who was the role model for the film 40 year old virgin! I get on very well with him, we have the same bizarre sense of humour and when he moved out of the area we kept in contact regularly. No problem I thought, until near Valentines and hubby made a comment about the only card I'd get would be from J. My reaction was to say don't be so silly, he doesn't think of me like that - hubby replies don't be so sure.

So from that I concluded that either hubby is barking mad or I'd completely missed something fairly obvious.

This doesn't really qualify as an old relationship but it does show that the most innocent of friendships (on my part) can be easily misconstrued (by my mental old git who would normally say 'Take her - where shall I send her stuff')
