Wanted to give you a heads up...

Post by JacksDad »

I got an email from the ex this past week.

Wanted to give you a heads up...

Jack started back to school on Monday and naturally they started right away with the homework. Last night, he was so angry with me that I was making him do it that he decided it was time for him to come live with you. I tried to tell him that it wouldn't mean he didn't have to do homework, but he has made up his mind and intends on moving to Melbourne.

So, be prepared to for that conversation this weekend. Honestly, if you are prepared for him to live there, maybe it would be good for him to spend more time with you. Something to think about.

On an entirely different note...

I got an email from ***** this morning! He's living in Daytona apparently. I forwarded your email address over to him - I hope you don't mind. Don't know where you guys left it, if you're still "talking" or not.

Thanks for the head's up.

Still no car. Hopefully Saturday or Sunday.

If Jack has weekend homework bring it.

He may just have a crappy Friday night! And if it's not done? A crappy Saturday!

I forwarded your email address over to him - I hope you don't mind.

I do soooo mind!

I spent a year and a half getting away from that mother****er. NEVER do that again!

I don't care if it's Jesus ****ing Christ!

Never give my information out to any one! That includes my sister!

Better yet. Next time someone asks, I died of a massive coronary in April 2007.

Why do you think he was emailing you?

Thanks alot.

I thought Jack already lived with you tbh...

Just because the child doesn't want to do homework??? Wow, I wonder how she would've reacted to having to push start a car in pouring down rain (and lightening) at 11:30 at night for her son.....

As for her sharing your info...let her have it........not cool man, not cool.

I take it you've distanced yourself from everyone deliberately?

The weekend has been spent having deep conversations with a seven year old.

I told him that if I ever received an email like that again I would drive to his house and beat his as$ up and down the street. I told him that my Father beat my as$ when I was bad and my GrandFather beat me as$ when I was bad. And they were right. And I love them both for it.

I asked him how he would feel if his mother died. Sad.

I told him of the importance of the moment.

Of being a good person. Of being nice. Of behaving.

The lesson of if you make someone unhappy they may not be there tomorrow. And the last thing you did was make them sad. That sucks.

He got it.

He picked up my car keys and played with the keyfob.

It's the yin yang symbol.

He said it was cool. I smiled and said yes it is. He asked what it was and I told him it was life. It never ends. Just goes round and round and round. And in life we make choices. We can choose whether or not to be good or bad. He liked that.

I asked him for my keys. He handed them to me. As I was removing the fob from the ring I asked him if was going to behave. Be good. Be nice. And love his mom and Dad and brother and sister and friends. And always let them know that so if something happened to them he would always know that he did the right thing. He swore he would. I think I got to him.

I handed him the fob and told him it's his to keep. And to remember what it means.

He got up from the chair and gave me the biggest hug I've had from him since he was three. And told me he loves me. I asked him to make me proud.

Lord, I hope I've made a difference. :-4

Sounds like you did the perfect thing.

It isn't easy saying no to a kid but you seem to see the big picture fairly well.
