Post by RedGlitter »

I thought I would post a photo here of a person or object and ask you guys to guess who or what it is. I'll give up to three hints per photo but I won't tell you when.

I'm sorry I don't have any prizes for the correct guessers but you get the satisfaction of winning! :D Everyone who guesses correctly wins. That's easy enough.

I'll post the correct answer every Saturday.

Okay.....who is this person?

The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

"Why not just tell people I'm an alien from Mars. Tell them I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight. They'll believe anything you say, because you're a reporter. But if I, Michael Jackson, were to say, 'I'm an alien from Mars and I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight', people would say, 'Oh, man, that Michael Jackson is nuts. He's cracked up. You can't believe a damn word that comes out of his mouth.' " Michael Jackson

Seriously that person could be just about anyone. Maybe you could give a little background on the photo/identity, you know, make the quest to guess the identity a little more reasonable to do? :wah:

I like the photo though nonetheless :-6

I thought it was Butch Cassidy, but then Red said it was a woman.

So, after considering Belle Starr and Calamity Jane, I opted for the latter (Calamity Jane).

I know I said I'd post the answer on Saturday but it seems most of us want to speed it up a bit. :D I'm glad you're having fun with this!!

The correct answer is Pearl Hart.

Our first winner was YZGI followed by Fibonacci, Sheryl, Minks and Chocoholic!

Pearl Hart is one of my favorite outlaws. She was the first and only woman to serve time in Yuma Territorial Prison which was known to be one of the worst prisons at that time. She got five years but served 18 months before parole. Contrary to popular tales, she was not the only woman to rob a stagecoach nor did she perform the last stagecoach robbery in the West, although I have heard it was the last stage robbery in Arizona.

Here is some more info about her: http://www.legendsofamerica.com/WE-PearlHart.html

I read the poll results so far and my PMs and we'll change the game a bit to make it more fun. As soon as someone guesses the right answer and I see it, they'll win and we'll start a new game right away!

If you have any ideas on what else we can do to make this fun, please shoot me a PM! Thanks!! :)

OK, I don't know the name of it or what it's for but, is it one of those Jewish symbols they put on all entry doors?

I seen something like it but it wasn't shaped that way.
