You Smell

Would you ever tell a co-worker or friend, that they smell? I mean really smell!!!!

We had a pharmacist once who really smelled, I mean the guy wouldnt bathe!

Turned out he was stealing Ms Contin and Roxinol from the safe!

My son has told me of some children who smell, and he said he has felt sorry for them, because others say something, one kid brought soap.

People are cruel.

This is a hard one. I went to school with a girl like that and no matter how much she was told, she was still unclean. I'm afraid I couldn't come right out and tell them out of sheer humiliation for both of us, but maybe a polite note left in their locker would work. Of course that's bad too because they would suspect everyone wrote the note and they'd be uncomfy.

I assume you mean the person's hygiene needs attention, yes? Because if it's not that, as a pharm tech, you probably know that some medications can make someone give off an unpleasant smell that they may not even be aware of.

well i had to tell a work mate:-1 i use to work in a dry cleaners and beliveve me it got hot in there:-2

This young lady i think did not understand that you sweat and you need to keep clean as it wiuld reach 100 to mayve 110 degress and i kid you not:-6:-6

I sat her down in the staff room and told her how it was ans i happy to say she chaged her ways.

Sorry, but yes I have told some people they smell. When I was doing personel I had no choice. But, it was done very professionally.

Red, thats why I mentioned that he was stealing Narcotics from the safe, yes, medication can make you smell, it's just a generalized question, however,I was just wondering about how people have said something:-6

I just wouldn't be able to bring myself to do it....if the person were a close, close friend then I would have to find a way, I suppose but a stranger...I just couldn't do it.

I'm one of those who suffer from the heat - if it reaches 70F then I'm overheating.

Given that, I bath or shower at least once a day.

Personally, I would be grateful if someone told me if I smell - at least then I could do something about it.

My daughter had this problem and I took her to her pediatrician at 16 years old. He told her she would grow out of it but in the mean time she could smoke some Maui Wowie and shut down her sweat glands. He also told her to quit shaving her arm pits. If it continued past 25 years old she could have her arm pit sweat glands removed. How is that for a doc?

Oh God, I had to tell one of my staff that he had a terrible body odour. The rest of my staff would refuse to work with him in the end until I mentioned it to him. I had to talk with HR first so I didnt say the wrong thing and when I called him in and talked to him I was almsot dying of shame about it, but I had to do it and eventually I fired him, but for totally different but very valid reasons.
