Speech by Iran's President to the UN today

Post by nvalleyvee »

OMFG...........you can read it by going to... Iran President speech to the UN on Google. My daughter called me and said he was making nice to the world......... ...:-5:-5 We will debate the points tomorrow. How did I raise such a naive woman?

The man is the head of a country that hates the western world (US) and Israel (Zion). He only tried to make nice to the Islamic world. I think his speech has promoted further terrorism against the United Nations countries.

Have you asked yourself why he hates the US and Israel?

BTW, he represents one of the UN countries - any terrorism he's been involved in pales to insignificance when compared to what Iran has suffered at the hands of the US and the UK since the 1950's.

Yes I know he is a part of the UN. I also know that every Arab country would not be a power it is now if it were not for the US and UK. We played politics and arms and it didn't turn out the way the US wanted. Too bad so sad............BUT don't harbor people who would come to our country and kill over religious reasons. I also know his country held Americans captive for 3 years. He has not stopped insurgents from interferring in Iraq (another topic). Perhaps if his country really did play nice and not force Islam on the rest of the world, as he states religion should never play a part, then religion can become a past influence.

Declare freaking war on us and let us fight it out country to country. Both sides are equally innocent and guilty.

Where do you get this "equally innocent and guilty" bit from?

After the Iranian people deposed a bloody dictator with a penchant for mass torture and and murder amongst his own population, the US (with full and equal support form the UK) sponsored, financed and armed a counter coup to but him back on the throne.

When, two years later, the people once again threw the bastard out the US financed and armed his next door neighbour, with full military backing, to launch an invasion that resulted in the bloodiest war of the twentieth century (including both the Great War and the Second War).

The holding of the hostages in the embassy and the Oliver North affair were very minor adjuncts to the main political byplay of the First Gulf War.

When, despite all of the efforts of the US, the First Gulf War failed to destroy Iran, the US imposed financial sanctions on them that resulted in the death of millions. (as they'd done with Cuba, the crime? Resisting destruction - but that, as they say, is another story).

After the sanctions failed to destroy the country the US trumped up charges of "Attempting to build nuclear weapons" - with no evidence accepted anywhere outside the US - and threatened direct invasion.

Could you tall me where the equal guilt comes into this? Could you even show me how Iran is trying to "force Islam on the rest of the world" beyond the polemic of a beleaguered leader.

Whilst the US is trying to force the rest of the world into its own mold there can never be peace because other cultures will resist.

Nobody has declared war on the US. terrorists don't represent anybody but themselves and the ones that attacked on 911 are saudi arabian, Osama is Saudi Arabian. The funding for osama is all from Saudi so why not impose sanctions on them until they stop financing them? Syria and Iran are involved but they are nation states that are also part of the solution, you're going to have to talk to them sooner or later. No side involved really wants a full scale war. The only way to defeat iran would be complete obliteration, Even those who don't support the regime would fight if invaded. By the way why is it OK for Israel to have nuclear weapons and not Iran?

At least the US seems to have finally twigged that a terrorist is not simply somebody else's freedom fighter.

"The whole thing boils down to the ideological argument of whether they were political prisoners or terrorists. And 'terrorism' is a word that is full of subjectivity," said Karen McElrath, an associate professor of sociology at Queen's University in Northern Ireland and author of a book on the subject.

"The fallout from the 9/11 attacks has had a real impact on cases similar to mine," said McAllister. "The word 'terrorism' is bandied about a lot these days, but we're different. Any crimes we were involved in were politically motivated."
