Old..................Been for my first ever eye-test and I need glasses.........Not too bad cos Im long sighted and just need them for work and reading etc...Least I still got all my own teeth and no grey hair yet lol....
Cocked up making the appt straight after school so the kids came with me and had silly giggling fits when he said I have a freckle on my right eye and that my eyes arent shaped like footballs which is regular but mine are like rugby balls :-3
Hell.......I like being different..........I work for the NHS so get some discount on me specks but the bloomin kids picked them, tried loads on and ewwwwwww, I looked nasty lol.
Anyone else a member of the Glasses wearing society.................

I have always had perfect eyesight, up until recently that is. I was having increasing trouble reading anything. Trouble is Lucy, my 7 year old, just failed her eye test and also needs glasses - this set us back $300. She also just had to have over $2,000 (can't remember exact figure, as it is being done in stages) of dental work. Eyes and dental are not covered under my husbands medical insurance.
So, I went and got some cheap reading glasses from Walmart. I'm a little worried that I am doing more harm than good, cos if I take them off to read, it is now just a blurr. I need to get them tested properly.....probably have to wait till after Christmas now though.
Oh the joys of getting old :-5

I wear glasses at home and contacts in public or for close work because I see better with them than with the glasses. I have worn glasses since 5th grade and contacts since I was 17.
I am thinking I might be needing bifocals soon because I have to take off my glasses to read the fine print on cans and boxes and stuff. Sometimes I can't read it at all if my lenses are in.
I don't know about things getting worse as you get older. I'm 41 and I like it fine.

I've had to wear glasses/contacts for 20 years now, since I was 15. I usually wear my contacts when I'm out, but I do have some nice glasses which I sometimes wear if I fancy a change.

I've been short sighted since the age of seven. Have worn glasses most of my life, would prefer contacts but can't afford them now.
Since starting college I found I really struggled with any close work, to the point that I was having to take my glasses off to read and write. So I got my eyes tested two weeks ago and my vision has started to turn long, picked up new glasses last week and I hate them! :wah: Suppose I'll get used to them eventually.

I've worn glasses for 38 years. Got bifocals 2 years ago. I hate them! I still take my glasses off to read up close and so does hubby who also wears bifocals.
