Who are they to protest me? Who are they? Unless they've been me and been there and know what the hell they're yelling about!

it depends what and how long your relationship was with your ex.
if you had a very long and serious relationship, she may see inviting you as a way of providing closure for all involved.

Strange request, I have heard of ex's still keeping in touch, but this is quite weird. Maybe she just wants your blessing, and its' obviously he never bad mouthed you to her, for them not to want you to be there. Maybe that it is meant as a compliment.:-3

Hmm... well, I may be jaded, but that reeks of an immature little girl who wants everyone and god to know she's getting married, especially the people who was with the guy in the past. Some women are just strangely territorial like that. Or, maybe she really wants you there. Either way, I agree, it's just weird and just socially not right.
By the way, I like how you got closure. Moved 2,000 miles away and married someone else. I love it. That's just great.
I also love how you told her in no uncertain terms that she was insane.... the fact that she still asked if you thought of an answer probably means your ex-boyfriend found a woman who's got a few screws loose! :wah:

My friend was married last year and her husband had his father as best man, two other men in attendance and an ex-girlfriend who he remained friends with. She was "the best girl." Still is. My friend was okay with it as they have become friends as well. It seemed odd to me at first but not now knowing the situation.
Weddings make people do crazy things. Maybe your ex wanted you in the wedding because you had been a big part of his life. I wouldn't do it either myself, but I guess some people do.

As you have only ever talked to her once and you are not best friends, it instantly makes ask 'whats she up to'?
What an odd thing for her to do
