what little things have you kept?
I have a tube of lipstick which is 27 years old.
Every time I look at it i remember it was in a set of cosmetics which my father gave me.(the rest of the set was lost or used up a long time ago).It is very distinctive in design so i am in no danger of accidently using it or throwing it out.
What little items have you kept which have sentimental value?

Hey!
I make a sentimental, moving thread, and this is what it degenerates into?

Well I have all the tickets from the dates hubby took me too when we were courting, cinema tickets, trips to London, Isle of Mann etc...Have kept all his cards and all my kids cards etc..Kept all the kids drawings from nursery and school. Funeral stuff and newspaper cuttings...Little tiny mugs that belonged to my great great grandmother. I also did each of my girls a box when they were born which I put their hospital bands in and umbilical cord peg and first pic, teddy and all the cards and have added sentimental stuff that I think they will appreciate when they get to 18.

I have some coin dollars that my dad gave me about 15 years ago, a pair of my mom's glasses, and - although it sounds disgusting - a half empty pack of chewing tobacco that was in my dad's pocket the night he died. I just can't make myself throw it away...

Hmm, it seems that I collect Fg'ers who are annoyed at me.

I've got a gold fish bowl filled with ticket stubs from every movie I've been to for the last 20 years. Every so often I'll fish through and remember a date or a good time shared with a friend at a particular movie.

what little things have you kept?
From an earlier thread:
I have sooo many things I don't know where to start!
I have a list of women's names and gifts that is from the baby shower
given to my Mom when she was going to have ME!!
I have a little name tag with stars and bird stickers on it that is from
kindergarten.
I have a birthday card from my 1st birthday.
I have my electric trains, and pictures of me in "feet pj's" playing with
them the first Christmas I got them... probably circa 1957 or so.
I have locks of hair cut from the mane of my first horse.
Rocking horse vase from the flowers my aunt gave my Mom when Mom was
in the hospital having me!!
The first Christmas ornament I ever made, maybe kindergarten or 1st.
grade.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I also have the purse my mom carried when she got married to my
dad...
A hand print Christmas present that I gave my mom and dad one year
(about 50 years ago!!)
My dad's World War II Marine Corps leggings and field jacket...
My original 1966 Twister game...
A collection of Valentine's Day cards given to my husband's grandmother
in 1913...
Some of my mom's costume jewelry including some 1950's-60's
"pop beads...
Think that's all I'll add for now!

I kept a toy for both of my children.
One had a pink duck the other a blue spotted dog.
When they had there first children I gave them the toys, back.
Now they tell me they will keep them for their children's children.
They weren't expensive toys just something they both liked to play with .
My husband kept his Dad's 1943 wrist watch,it is lovely.:-6

It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice.

Lots and lots of things that will mean very little to others but mean a lot to me.
Poems written by my husband and attached to gifts from him, my daughters first pair of shoes, her name tags from when she was born, cards received when I got engaged and then married.
Some of my schoolwork, my first soft toy, the fairy on top of the Christmas tree that's nearly as old as me.
So many things, all special.
