How do you know that animals are not disturbed by being abused in such a manner? An infant or toddler has no concept of what is of a "sexual nature" either.

It isn't that great a leap. There are several studies out there that explain the correlation between animal abuse and human abuse.

I'm just thinking that most people tell children that when a dog sticks his nose up the kid's bum that it's "his way of saying hello" so the kids are taught that the normal sexual boundaries between animals and people don't exist. How many times have you had your leg humped and the owner laughs?

Most people are taught that sex in any form is bad but that doesn't stop the urge to do it. Perhaps we should get tougher on pets regarding sexual exploration of our children.

I have a friend that was charged with having sex with a dog and video taping the act....I met him long after this happened and he served time in jail.....he was very high on drugs when he did it from what I understand.

Being a vegetarian, I think it's interesting that if a person has sex with a goat, that's totally unacceptable, and it's viewed as a mortal sin. But it's totally acceptable to kill the animal and eat it's dead body?! That's even worse, in terms of mistreatment IMO.

So, I don't think the "moral" issue is really about the animals well-being, but rather just the traditional psycho-sexual issues that humans have, and their desire to control what another person does with their sex organs. That in itself is more disturbing than the issue of animal sex in the OP.

If this is truly a moral issue, it needs to be established that some harm occured to the animal. If however, the dog enjoyed it, it's not a moral issue. Even if the dog didn't like it, it's arguably less of a moral issue than eating the dog. Many will find it disgusting, but that's not the same as morality. I find ricotta cheese to be disgusting.

I'm just saying ... if I had the choice between being raped ... or being killed and eaten, I'd probably choose being raped. In terms of bodily harm, I don't see how you can say being killed is less.
