You can freeze anything!

Even milk, the problem though is in the thawing.

The fat will separate and it will be horrible.

Don't you remember as a kid the pints on the doorstep freezing in the winter? The bottle tops used to perch on the top 'cos milk expands when frozen like water does.



Providing you leave room for the milk to expand freezing is fine. You can freeze cream too but whip it first or it goes skanky when you defrost it (don't try it with clotted cream though that is foul when defrosted)

You can freeze it, although i think it tastes a bit watery afterwards. I know plenty of people that freeze milk.

I always have UHT in the cupboard anyway so although i prefer fresh, i dont worry about running out, and its the only milk my partner will drink

Milk expressed first thing in the morning is better frozen into an ice cube tray, then you can just pop out how much mummy milk you require:sneaky:

I found this from our dairy thingie:

Freezing Milk

Although we do not recommend freezing milk products, for some it is a necessity. Milk may be frozen for as long as 3 months provided the sealed container is frozen prior to the best before date. Skim and 2% milk freeze better than Homo milk (whole milk). Thaw frozen milk in the refrigerator. The milk will still have the same nutrients, but it may separate. If it does, shake well or beat with an electric mixer or rotary beater.

I freeze milk - have for years.

We use very little milk - I buy a gallon and split it into 3- 4 small milk containers

works out great.

Defrost the milk - shake it - its just fine

Cant ya just get a new jug later Jimbo ? Why put yourself through all this grief and trouble ? Its not worth it. Throw down 3 dubaloonies or what ever the hell you use over there and be done with it.
