Yes. I love gardening but can't stand the weeding:wah: I just received a small rose plant for my birthday and my SIL said to just plant it outside. Does it like full sun or part sun? And how deep should I dig the hole? Thanks

Oh I love to plant all my annuals in my big containers and also do the veggie's too. Idgie, did you do tomatoes last year, and how did they turn out? We got tons of them.

deep enough to place the knot of the rose..the base..just a tad above the ground..and place the roots into the hole without bending them all to hell..back fill the dirt back in around the roots and stamp it down when you are done..and then give it a good watering..roses need morning sun..or at least four to six hours of direct sunlight to bloom well generally..that way it burns the dew off of it..and makes for less mildew and fungus..problems..

i am no expert..but that works for me..:-6

Got a question regarding the melons and squash. I saw in Yankee magazine a garden they drew and it showed the melons & squash next to each other. Wouldn't they cross pollinate and make either one have strange looking fruit?

I would assume so. Mine is still inside in a sunny windowsill and I just water it when I remember:wah: I guess you can plant it outside when all signs of frost are gone.
