Spiderwick Chronicles

We watched this yesterday. It's not too bad but I would not recommend taking young kids with you unless they are mature for their ages. I think that if I had seen this any age sooner then 15 I would have wanted to sleep in between my parents. Maybe I'm just a wuss!

The plot did lack any surprises but the main actor (Freddie Highmore) gave a great performance. The beginning was really good and I thought the film held a lot of promise and that I would see a lot of wonderful characters etc but to be honest I expected too much.

I would give it about a 5 out of 10.

The bad guy was very scarey looking. I would have been terrified as a child.

Tow of my kids are ages 10 and 12, they want to see it as the ads look kind of Harry Potter'ish. Would they be too young?

I would think that if they are quite grown up otherwise I would wait a bit because there were some very scarey creatures and the main 'bad guy' was terrifying. (In my opinion of course) :)
