Who Is Your Favourite Gardener?

Post by polycarp »

This idea came up when I was watching an award show the other day. The idea is simply for every member of ForumGarden to nominate his or her favourite gardener, so that in the end the person with the most nominations could be declared as the Gardener of the Moment. This is not a popularity contest please, but just a game (for the fun of it), as every member of the forumgarden is great and special in his or her own way. Remember only one person can be nominated and every gardener can make a nomination just once.

I'll set the ball rolling by making my nomination.

Now lets see......., so many great gardeners to choose from, but since i must choose one person only, then I'll like to nominate LADYCOP as my favourite gardener.

Next nomination please.

He he he! it sounds like a good idea, I really won't mind the sum of $0,000,000,0000,000,000,000.00 to begin with.

There was a thread about "members awards" awhile back, i think Koan created it? I would have to say Capt. Buzzard would be my favorite. He is the most sincere and doesn't take sides, neutral at all times. Tombstone would be my second choice. The rest are all good, but you can see what intentions they have. :yh_flower

Hmmm... I seriously respect LC, AK is a wonderful person, Koan is mysterious and lovely, and what would we do without the Capt.?

But I'm going to say...BabyRider. (She was extremely nice to me the first day here.) :)

Holy Smokes....I'd guess you'd be in the running, Paula, but I haven't really got to know you yet. You haven't been in the same threads as I in the short time I've been here.

(gulp) sorry.

Wow. I'm truly touched! :yh_blush

I give as good as I get, and I got such a great reception from everyone here from the very start, that it's easy to be nice when surrounded by nice people. I think of most of you as friends! I got support and friendship and repay that with the same. I'm really floored by you guys...

Do I get to vote for a favorite? I hope not, since I can't choose from so many awesome people!! You guys are the best... :yh_peace

I'd be biased if I voted, so, I'll stick with the status quo.

Yes, Suresh is a wonderful person, it is difficult here to say "one" is a favorite. I give much credit to the moderators who keep the conversations sensible & intermingle with us all. There are truly many good members here. We have quite a "WIDE" variety of plants and veggies. The name Forum Garden surely explains itself. :yh_flower

this is a most interesting forum with intelligent & caring people. it gives me a break to express myself and talk to others, if they wish to talk to me? i am not brilliant, but it does offer an outlet to expand on the ideas of other people. overall the garden is my favorite forum and it can be addicting. the ones who over-see its growth are to be thanked.

Thanks Paula dear. You are a wonderful person.

You are right that FG moderators deserve full credit for keeping the garden a pleasant place to visit.

Yes, there are truly many good members, a wide variety of nice plants and veggies. It is really very difficult to pick one out of so many good people. It is a family and the family is number one.

May I brag and say once (in my early 30's) I did go to this huge party...

with a younger friend, (everybody there was pretty much college types)

and, er, um, I won a bottle of bubbly in a wet t-shirt contest!!:o

I can't pick out a favorite, I wouldn't want to, but I hafta put in just

a tiny plug for the sweet, gentle nature of Thomas40.

I agree with all who have trouble picking favourites.

I don't think this thread is "fun" at all.

Cap'n, I am REALLY honored that you would include me, but I really must remove meself from the competition. Just don't feel comfortable with a popularity contest between friends. :-6

From the first day.. Abbey became my favorite. I found her avatar fascinating. She is like a wise but firm mediator. Quietly reading between the lines. Simply offering a few words of encouragement, or advice. She seemed to fly in and out like the fairy in her art, always contributing simple but profound words. Thanks Abbey its been a pleasure to know you. My first friend across the sea.

Ok, I mostly hang out here and read everyone else's posts, but my top awards go to: Koan - most artistic category; love her poetry, Valerie - anyone with a web page for their dog is a good person in my book, Babyrider - most diplomatic; able to argue her points without becoming insulting (unless insulted), Cass - most all around fun member, taking care of the Guess the Forum Gardner game, etc., Paula & LadyCop - Best sense of humor, makes me laugh the most, Captain Buzzard - most agreeable and open-minded category, and Tmsgirl for being the most trusting with her problems to let us discuss them. Abbey, Weeder, and Akarinea for the most eloquent posts. Hope I haven't missed anyone. :-6
