Kids are getting pretty darm scary now. I look at the teen-age girs on the train and wonder why their parents let them out with all the makeup they have on, their mid-drifts totally bare, pants skin tight, etc., these kids are only about 13 or 14 years old Then the parents are always the one to scream the loudest if their kids are groped, scooped or worse things that could happen to them. The kids now a days are nothing like they were 40 years ago, thats for sure.

Umm. I'd let my daughter stay out all night by the time she was, let me try to be accurate, nine. And to dye her hair bright red at fourteen - I had a go with the same dye, it puzzled people in my department because it didn't wash out for weeks. And I suspect I sat her down and talked her into watching her first R-rated movie at eight but it depends on what R-rated means, I'm not sure. This one was nobody-under-18 in cinemas. It was educational. Serpico. We all watched it together and talked about it for days after.
I just checked with IMDB and it says it was an R-rated release.

funny that... I remember being sat down by my dad to watch Silence of the Lambs when I was about 10 or so. On saying I was tired, I was told 'it's educational'!
Then when my mum arrived back home 1/2 way through and realised what I was watching, my dad (who had been making coffee) walked in, sized up the situation in one swift glance and promptly came out with 'what are you doing out of bed?? I told you to go to bed hours ago! This film is entirely unsuitable!' possibly followed by 'go to bed now you wretch'.
Strikes me as quite unfair...
