Silly urban legends are reposted all over the internet, including FG. A couple of years ago, there was a preposterous story about envelopes, and another about Dinah Shore repeated here, and many accepted their veracity without question. Both were 100% untrue, and both were extremely ridiculous, particularily the envelope story.

That's why snopes.com is such a valuable resource.
