Well, we had a blast!! We headed off onto a trail, not having a clue where it would lead us. My middle son was having a ball taking pictures with my cell phone to see if he could capture any "civil war orbs"
The dogs were going crazy with their sniffers, well the lab/pit was, my shitzu was just so happy to be out walking!We saw a deer run across the road and into a field and then it started raining on us, we didn't even care because we were all excited about seeing the deer, well then we realized we were kinda lost.....we went down another trail, and the boys went in the middle of a field while I stayed on the gravel road, where I saw a snake:eek: and of course I made the mistake by telling my boys, the youngest HAD to see it, He ran as fast as he could from the trail they were on to find it!!...I thought it was dead, but he kicked rocks at it and found out that ummm, no it was alive!! Luckily my son can run fast.....:rolleyes::o
As we walked further, we saw more deer there were 5 of them just standing in a field in a good distance, my middle son couldn't see them, he forgot his glasses and I felt bad for him, he will remember them for sure next time...
The walk was not only healthy and good bonding time for the boys and I, it was educational too. The boys enjoyed reading the plaques about what happened in the land that we stood on. Unfortunately today we were standing on "bloody angle"....many soldiers died where we stood and the boys found that sad yet facinating that they could be standing where Stonewall Jackson trod!:)
