I think i got a Social Phobia
I was reading a rather intresting artical about Social phobia's at the following link http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/mentalhealthin ... hobia.aspx
The majority of it best describes me what i'm like offline most of the time, and also when the artical mentions about being nervous all the time out in public which i am, made me relise that i have this condition cause in College i hate being in a room with a large number of people i always start to shake and sweat alot and also get pins and needles before i go in the class most days. and i also don't like to be the center of attention anywhere i go i end up trembleing i am always hesitate when i'm outside or when i go into my class at College .
I hate feeling like this and i'd like to work on this abit more to get my self esteme up, i think what brought it on was being bullyed throughout high school even back then i still had a phobia of being around a large group of people or being asked question's in class.

"Why not just tell people I'm an alien from Mars. Tell them I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight. They'll believe anything you say, because you're a reporter. But if I, Michael Jackson, were to say, 'I'm an alien from Mars and I eat live chickens and do a voodoo dance at midnight', people would say, 'Oh, man, that Michael Jackson is nuts. He's cracked up. You can't believe a damn word that comes out of his mouth.' " Michael Jackson

My cousin suffers from something similar. It can be treated without a counselor, but it makes it much easier if you bet one.

Take a deep breath and remind yourself that all those people around you are just people.............with self-doubts much like yours. They are just trying to make it in this world just like you are. Some of them are probably nervous too. Relax.
Life is a Highway. Let's share the Commute.

I used to be the same way D. I was just uncomfortable in crowded public areas.
Relax bro. Relax.

The poolhall's a great equalizer. In the poolhall, nobody cares how old you are, how young you are, what color your skin is or how much money you've got in your pocket... It's about how you move. I remember this kid once who could move around a pool table like nobody had ever seen. Hour after hour, rack after rack, his shots just went in. The cue was part of his arm and the balls had eyes. And the thing that made him so good was... He thought he could never miss. I know, 'cause that kid was me.

Everyone has either phobias or disturbances. Some are debilitating and others are manageable.
Since you do attend classes and flit about your world, you are coping.
It would be nice if you could shoot higher than merely managing and since you are asking you are already taking steps towards your goal whether you realize it or not.
Being cognizant and aware that you need improvement in an aspect of your life is the first step towards being proactive.
Personal evolution can be grueling, slow and painstaking.
But it doesnt have to be. A positive healthy attitude geared towards progress will carry you great distances and one leap leads to another.
Be patient with yourself, allow yourself to go at a pace thats comfortable to you.
Practice walking through a room with your back straight and your head high.
Practice positive thinking when you find yourself in stressful situations.
You are a worthy human being deserving of all good things.
Give !
When we give we shine !!!

All good advice, Darren.
And Nomad's hit it on the head.
I used to be very shy and I was always picked on as a kid up until 8th or 9th grade. When people become adults they usually change and that bullying stuff stops.
As you think, so you will become. If you picture yourself as a friendly, easygoing, guy who's fun to be around, and make yourself act like that, people will see that in you.
When I'm at a party or social thing, if I feel nervous, I try to look for someone standing alone, or someone who seems shy and I go introduce myself to that person and say hi, as if i were helping them. It almost always works. Nine out of ten times anyway.
Compliment people. Everybody likes kind words. Find something good about that person, whether it's their shirt or their haircut or whatever and compliment them on it. That's a good ice breaker.
If this bothers you, you can change it. If it doesn't bother you then no worries. Not everybody needs or wants to be the life of the party you know? It doesn't mean anything's wrong with you at all. But if you're having anxiety over meeting new people, there's help for you. Just take baby steps. Talking about it here was a good step.

Imagine the people naked and when you do walk into somewhere have a big smile on your face like you know something really good and keep your chin up.
Up until recently I think I had the same problem, but you and all of us have nothing to fear,
You are a very bright young man with alot going for you,
we just need to make you feel good and proud of who you are.
To bring your self esteem back up.

I think i got a Social Phobia
All good advice there.
This 'phobia is just something that virtually everyone goes through at different times throughout life.
Get together with a good friend and do some positive thinking exercises, write down all the negative stuff and then burn it. Often a close friend can point out the positive stuff about you that you just refuse to see! The positive stuff you leave by your bed and take time to read it first thing every morning so you get up and go about your day in a positive frame of mind.
