Jenna's Marriage

Post by moonpie »

Jenna Bush is getting married tomorrow. With all the negativity towards her old man (the President), I don't know why they could not keep it a little more quiet. Things are not as sure as they seem to be in his egotisitical eyes. I am probably wrong, but why do they need as much publicity about this event? I am just saying this for security reasons only. Nothing more.

I thought it was remarkably quiet. Certainly not like first daughter weddings in the past. You KNOW the press would not let it go by without a lot of folderol . I admire her for not giving in and doing it in Washington. If he were a private citizen now it would probably still be a big event (lots of guests and big wedding party) because of the family's standing in the state...and their wealth. I think if she had her way they'd have eloped!!

Actually I thought the wedding was very hush - hush - NO HIPE

Very little said about it - plan - people invited etc.. maybe no one cares ????

I remember Nixon's daughter Patricia getting married - all over the news ....!!!

There's not that much interest

Yesterday was the first I'd heard about it, I think. Didn't Diane Sawyer do a story on her last year about her teaching? Did they mention the engagement then?

It's been a very quiet pre-wedding on the news, not like other ones during an administration. I'll never forget trudging up to the top of the Washington Memorial to glimpse the White House, to find TV cameras blocking the view for Johnson's daughter, in preparation for wedding pics.

Id be the one to stand up and object to the marriage.

Then Id pull a zippy move and twist around the Secret Service and run out the door across the field.

Id probably tip a cow over on the way.

It's quieter than hollywood weddings and the marriage will probably last much longer.

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"
