wrist-bands

Post by busybee »

Hi there Petal,

Call me an ignoramus........or a cynic. I just don't see what the anti-bullying wristbands do for the cause, except maybe line the pockets of those who manufacture them. Yes i think they would become a fashion accessory, but unlike the cancer pins/badges - were i hope we can be rest assured that at least some of the money goes into researching cures and treatments. Can the same be said about anti-bullying. I think it is a problem that needs to be taken account of in schools and even although there are policies indicating a zero tolerance - not much progress can be made because no-one really knows what to do with the bullies in the first place - if they are kids too!

How would the money gained from buying the wristbands be used?

i have not seen these here yet, darn I should start the trend and make a buck or 2 tee hee hee, no no not my style.

I say anything that supports a cause is great, and if it can bring to light problem areas then we ought to jump on the band wagon and support it.

Trendy maybe but if you gotta pay $$ to support a cause why not

they bring into public view certain issues which are extremely important i.e bullying. yeah they are becoming more of a fashion thing but surely in a way that is a good thing, the more people that wear these bands the more people will hear about the issues they are supporting. I have recently bought a pink breast cancer band and intend to tell anyone who asks what it stands for and why i am wearing it

p.s they are selling on ebay for like £15 or even £20!!!!!

just like the stickers for your vehicle to raise money for our troops, yea right!I see younger people wearing the plastic bands and i ask, what is that for? i really don't think people my age would wear a wrist-band to signify caring about something. its nice, but i would rather give a donation. :-3
Everyone has these on their face? TULIPS.
